Power Gear Leveling Control

We are on a trip in our 2004 gas Land Yacht w/slide. We parked at a camp ground and appempted to use the Power Gear levelers, but the system would not come on. I turned off both the Battery Disconnect switches (on the left as you enter the door), left them off a minute or two, turned them back on and the Power Gear system then worked.

Last year I had a similar experience. The Power Gear system came on but all four jacks would not work. Either the front set would work or after turning the Power Gear system off, the other set of jacks would work. Once a set of jacks was activated, the other jacks would not operate. I went through the same Battery Disconnect procedure at that time and then everything operated correctly.

Did you check your fluid level?

Sam,

I don't know specifically which battery bank your hydraulic pump is wired to, but this seems to be an electrical issue, not a hydraulic one. I would check your disconnect solenoids the next time the system will not work. Sounds like one of the solenoids is not closing and not allowing power to pass on to the pump motor. It re-sets when you flick the cut-off switch and closes, allowing the pump to operate.

Soiree, typically low fluid will prevent system from showing that jacks are up. I have had this problem, topped off fluid, and all was OK.

Lewster, thanks for the information. I would guess that you are correct in your assessment.
