Why has Airstream dis-owned the Pinnacle?

The Pinnacle was/ is sold under the Airstream Badge.

Any info on the history of this would be of interest.

The WBCCI charter says in Article VI section 1, that the RV Must be built by Airstream, Inc. Therefore Thor branded products are not eligbile.

The Pinnacle that started it all may have the Airstream name on it, they were very lax with what motorhomes they put it on in the 90's. The Aluminum Classics were not selling due to $$$$ and they were trying to find out what would appeal to the buyers.

One thing I don't see is a diesel Pinnacle.
The Legacy apprears to be an upscale model that also offered the diesel pusher with the side mounted rad on the Spartan Chassis.
The Legacy also has a common mount line for the windows which gives a cleaner look.

The Land Yacht info is well documented on many threads on this AF site in the motorhome section.

Pinnacle AIRSTREAM

Here's another example of AIRSTREAM'S PINNACLE vintage 1991.

Airstream does not admit to this 'out of wedlock' baby today.

Currently for sale in FL.

1991 Airstream 30, Bradenton FL - 106369024 - RVTrader.com

I do not see any 'by AIRSTREAM' decal on this one, but it is advertised as such.

It does seem to have a WBCCI plaque on it.

I am not familiar with the Pinnacle but the general subject is a touchy one in our WBCC unit. When MH vs Classic comes up it's like the Hatfields and McCoys. I still refuse to attend "meetings" at our rallys. When I decided for health reasons to sell my 30' A/S Classic Excella 1000 and buy a MH it was a real ordeal. I wanted something around 30' that would fit under my 11' 6' clear RV Port. The big A/S coaches are too long and too high, even most of the diesel pusher Classic Coaches are too high and too long. I was leaning hard toward the Thor Serrano with the front diesel until I found the 30' LY. I gave up the fuel efficient small diesel to keep the true A/S badge mainly because I have learned after over 35 years of marriage that "yes dear" is always the best answer. A/S needs to build a Classic style smaller MH with a small front mounted diesel. I'd buy one.

I think that's a plaque from FMCA, if you're referring to the dark oval thing on the left front above the windshield...

I see, in my travels, a Pinnacle Q30 for sale in Nanaimo. Parked off Bowen Rd, near the Pride St. intersection.

Looks good on passing by. I will try to stop at some time and have a closer look and maybe a picture.

I post this just for general interest on a model that we see little information on.

This is branded a Pinnacle Q300 by Thor rather than by Airstream. I was not able to read the date or s/n on the faded sticker. I also did not have access to the inside so pictures are through the window.

This unit looks to be in exceptional condition for what I assume to be an early 90's unit. No delam, no damage, shows very well on the outside.

The asking price is $20000, and thats why it is still sitting here for sale. Almost end of season so it will sell for considerably less than the asking price or sit for another year.
