newbie at 66. help!
as the proud new , age 66, cautious owner of a vintage streamer, i need to know where i can get a lower rear gray panel for a 1993 formerly perfect land yacht. i have obviously not mastered the art of backing it up yet. i like nice things. and pine branches hanging off of the rear lower panel is just not acceptable. there were only two things i ever really wanted...hit tv and radio shows and a vintage airstream mh. the first two got me the last. help me on the panel.

Welcome to the forums, and congrats on obtaining your motorhome! I've taken care of the double post for you, and hopefully someone will chime in to help with the panel. Good luck!

hey callie! you're the first person to confirm the fact that i am still alive. two things i have learned over the last three weeks...1. if you drive the front the rear will follow as long as you realize that, like people who frequent wal mart, the rear end needs a wide turn and 2. if you run out of propane it will take a whole of folks far..ng through a garden hose to run the microwave.

Your a kid.
Welcome aboard. As I always say.... as you drive or tow your Airstream, if you have to say "I think I can make it....." You can't. Don't even try.
I'm not sure about motorhome items but you can start here..... Out-of-Doors Mart!, More Airstream Parts on-line than anyone!
Good luck.

jeez melody...that is exactly what i have been thinking. so now what do i do. i was planning a trip to nashville this weekend to write songs with tony joe white. now i think i'll just take my ram 1500. how do i get to step two in the motorhome life? in the 90's my wife and i were goldwing tourers at 50,000 miles a year. the difference is i could easily keep the bike between the lines. what shud i look out for now with a vehicle this big?

I'm 66, rode a Goldwing, wrote songs, been to Nashville, and own an Airstream, and I'm two bits short of having a quarter. What's yer story?

lets start with the fact that i live so far out in the country i dont get sunlight til thursday. it's about an 8 ft wide bus on a 10 foot wide road for 15 miles until i see my first macdonalds sign. with an allison 6 speed, im running 50 mph before my foot even wakes up. i really want to have fun. but i hate stitches. i think im going to hire a driver to get me into town. i'll take it from there. but i find that abhorrent. i'll learn. i just wont tell the grandkids what i am really thinking.

I only backed an Airstream once and I managed to miss both the house and the garage at the same time. This was a tough summer for me. It was so hot here when I installed roof vents I had to work wearing oven mitts.

beautifully done splitrock. now you are why i bought an airstream. i went to the american eagle site before i bought my ly and they were arguing about at what temperature water boils. on the holiday rambler site they went 900 posts deep on which side shud the fuel filler be on. at last i have found the mensa society of rv'ers.

here's the question...my ly has a cummins 230 hooked to an allison six speed. it has 51,000 miles on it. though cosmetically perfect, with that kind of mileage do you really think it will go to memphis (90 miles) tomorrow night without laying down from mechanical exhaustion? my wife and i hate long walks. i have that good sam ers deal. but having never used it i have no idea what to expect. please be kind to the ancient newbie.

Splitrock,
Looked at your blog today and you are quite the repair man. Keep up the good work.
We have a 31' 76 Sovereign and in need of some repair. Where did you purchase the suburban furnace?
