New owner had 3 questions
Hello,
We have a 2002 26' Airstream Land Yacht. We went to our first WBCCI Rally and learned in a short period of time a "whole lot!" But we have 3 remaining questions/issues:
1. Have removed the four long bolts in each corner of the engine cover/dog house between the driver's seat and the passenger's seat. It still will not budge. Should we force it with a crow bar or should we not do that? Is there any easier way...any suggestions?
2. Dimmer switch for dinette light over table is not working. Can we get a replacement dimmer? Should we contact Airstream or is there an alternative?
3. The solar panel on the roof has been replaced, it's brand new. The solar panel indicator in the coach doesn't light up, blink, or do anything that tells us that the panel if working. Any suggestions?
Thanks for any light you can shed on any of these problems. Any suggestions wil be welcomed...it's tough being new at this stuff.

I can help with question 2. For the most part, any part you need is available from an Airstream dealer. I think "Out of Doors Mart" is the closest to you.

My doghouse cover is held on by four snap hooks, hot bolts but sometimes the rubber gasket will seal quite tight if it hadn't been opened for a while. You could gently try pushing a prybar in, being careful not to damage rubber seal. I use my knee and give it a kick and that usually enough toknocks it loose.

If the solar panel is new, I would take it back to installer and let them check the interior panel. Its possible it may still be in warranty with their company.
Lights, switches, dimmers are cheaper either at local hardware stores or on Amazon. I replaced all of the plastic reading lamps in my Landyacht with a brushed chrome halogen light I found on Amazon. Much brighter and is adjustable.

Welcome. We have a 2005 26' Land Yacht. I agree some light options are best bought on Amazon. We're converting ours to LED's and installed a 1250 watt inverter in the back lower cabinet for morning coffee without a generator. Have fun, it's a great little rig.
