New 1991 Land Yacht (our first RV!)

My husband and I just bought a new toy, a 1991 Land Yacht! It's really long! It's a 36' model with about 75K miles on it. It seems to be in really good shape — he drove it about 90 miles to get it home, and it ran fine. We can't see any signs of leaks. The passenger side windshield is cracked and the power steering needs works, but we paid less than we thought we'd have to pay for it ($4,500), so we've got some money left that we can use to fix it up.

I'm really excited! We're already talking about where to go for our first trip.

Of course, we did have one small problem. It got hung up when we tried to back it into our driveway. The hitch was on a rock, and the tires just spun. Took over an hour to get it moved. Oh, well, live and learn!

Just bought a 92 model myself. Glad you've had a good experience so far. These are sweet motorhomes and, if treated right, can give you years of good service. Just keep an eye for leaks around the roof. Seeing a leak on the inside is too late. Keep us informed as to how it goes.

Yes, a previous owner put a funny Mercedes grill and a Mercedes emblem on the back. If we can find a replacement part, we'll get rid of it.

I like the Mercedes grill. 4500! I think that sounds like a great deal, especially with the Mercedes option.

Does anyone have any suggestions where we can look for a passenger side windshield? We'll need other miscellaneous parts as well, but the windshield is essential.

Any and all suggestions will be welcome.

There's a 92 Landyacht that's being parted out on ebay. He may have one that would fit.

Thanks!

Messaged him, and the drivers side is fine, passenger side cracked! Figures!

Windshield

We broke a windshield in our 94 Land Yacht and the place that replaced windshilds in our old 77 GMC motorhome got us a new one. Check with local glass companies and they'll tell you who does them for RV's in your area.
