Need help with lights

My AS LY has three front marker lights out. Checked bulbs, one was bad the other two good. Pulled out the lamp assembly and noticed corrosion. I probed the contacts on the inner plug with no voltage reading. This lamp setup is unique. There are no wires, just an inner plug, that I can't get at, and the external portion that plugs into the inner. If I can't get voltage readings, can I try to grab the inner plug, pull it out and hopefully have wires attached to it. Then I could just swap the AS lights for standard markers. Is that feasible? Is there another way to get at these wires? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The marker lights rely on the two screws holding the assembly for the ground ( I think with a wire connector for the ground). Since you have a fiberglass roof in this area (I think) you may have an additional point for corrossion problems. If you pull those two screws you should find one wire (the running light circuit) attached to the plastic light body and the other with a round connection to the screw for the ground.

Be careful when taking your readings - good grounding points are notoriously difficult to find.

I would think it unlikely that there is wire damage in the interior - all of the inner wires are fairly well protected.

My gut is that you have corrossion problems with both the ground and positive connections in the bulls eye mount area. I have found that the "standard" bulls eye lenses and mounts are direct replacements on the trailer and classic MoHo. You might consider going to LED's for the replacements.
