Looking at changing our cracked skylights to a heavy duty pair from Maxim. Found a great thread on this forum

on how it worked out. Looks great.
But for the front skylight, I just installed a Max Fan, with the waterproof eyebrow that opens and closes. It clears the stock skylight by literally 1/4" in the closed mode. Not sure if the Maxim will fit, as it is a slightly different form factor with the wooden block inside the aluminum curb. The 7th photo in the above thread is the exact area of concern. Unfortunately, the OP on this topic has not been on the site since 2014, so I assume he's not involved, or gone...
Anybody done this?
BTW, this was my 2nd Max Fan install. The first took me about 3 days, with a full 2 days spent removing the old Dicor. This time I purchased a Bosch Multi-Tool to try. It cut the removal of the ancient Dicor down to about 2 hours... best $125 I ever spent...
