Locking Gas Cap for 2003 AS Gas Motorhome

Does anyone have a good source of supply for a locking gas cap that I can use on my 30' 2003 Land Yatch Motor Home (Gas)?

I went to NAPA took the old cap into them and they got me the correct locking one it even had the platic cord on it
Working now for 1 year just wish the key was longer

I tried the only NAPA in 20 miles to no avail. Can I impose on you to check the gas cap you got from NAPA for some numbers and name that are on the cap. They usually have the number on the invoice when you pay.

I just drop it off for some work I will get you the numbers, this week
keep in mind mine is a Ford V10 frame
Ill let the dog know you like him, by the way we just got back from FLA
and we let him out in the back yard and he decided to go roll in some real stinky stuff !!!!

My dog does the same. What is it that they like so much that they roll in it-and get mad if you make them stop.

If yours is a Ford chassis, it may be different than mine on a Workhorse. But then who know, I have a brake release handle that has "Ford" printed on it.

i don't know if you are willing to try this or not, way back when i worked at a job that required leaving company trucks unattended we had quite a problem with people siphoning off our gas every night.

we took chicken wire and made a ball of it that just barely fit inside the filler neck. then it was jammed down the neck.

the gas would go in fine but no one could get a hose down the neck to steal the gas!

the thieves just broke all the windows on our trucks instead!

But many thieves prefer to puncture and damage gas tanks and lines rather than messing with siphoning.

i'm wondering if putting a drain valve on the tank would be cheaper in the long run. at least they wouldn't puncture the tank to capture a small amount of fuel to let the remainder drain onto the ground.

That may not be a bad idea. Years ago I had a Porsche that I would leave unlocked. My theory being that the alarm could go off when they opened the door, rather than when they broke the window. Ron

i went to napa for my locking gas cap mainly because i didn't want crappy neighbors pouring sugar into mine. any potential gas thief would be sorely disappointed with what i currently have in the tank. in this climate of high gas prices surely someone has patented a gas tank repair kit as well as a sign on the refill cap that says 'gas thief's WILL be knee-capped!'
