WE had to replace a pane in one of our bedroom window. We still had the frame, and took the whole window out and took it to Glass Masters and they replaced the glass and we put the window in ourselves. If we would had ordered a new window it would have cost a lot (some where around $800.00). Most of the cost was shipping. The window is easy to take out, requires two people, and replace. So see if you can get the glass replaced first. Airstream Customer Service is really good at helping you find places to get parts. Good Luck.
This was the best fix I could come up with for now...
This window latch from Home Depot.
Disassembled and ground down a bit.
Painted and then riveted into place with a rubber washer to provide a little bit of resistance.
The finished product.
Hopefully this will help someone if they run into the same type of problem with a broken window latch. If anyone finds a source for the original latch, please let me know. Thanks!
