How do I replace the water pump in 2004 Land Yacht?

When pump is turned on it pumps water out the shore water fill inlet? Some water also comes out the faucets but pump only momentairly shuts off then continues to gush water out the filler port. This pump is buried behind cabinets and boxed in by the cabinets. Anyone ever changed one? What's happening? It's an Aerojet pump.
Thanks Chuck

Is it the water fill port or the city water connection? If it's the city water connection.
It's not the pump. It's the check valve in the city water fill connection. If you have the type which connects to a hose. Put a cap or plug on/in it.

Look into the port the water gushed out of and see if there is something jamming the check valve disc open. It's not the pump. The check valve in the city water connector is stuck open or damaged. That's probably a lot cheaper than the pump, which sounds like it's working fine.

I have seen foreign material get caught in the one way valve just inside the city water inlet. Hooking up to the city water and running water through that valve may solve the problem. A threaded plug will also keep the water from coming out of the inlet, but that will not solve the problem. Last fall I had to replace the inlet/one-way valve on our '65 Caravel. The spring and other small parts came out and could not be re-inserted.

Your pump is OK.

Our water pump and the check valve are both just inside the coach from the fill door on the exterior of the coach. It's beneath the seat of the dinette, behind the pull out drawer. It's accessible by taking the cushions off and removing the wood that supports the seat cushion. Once you get there you can see the entire incoming water system, both city water and hose fill for you tank with the check valve and pump. Replacing the pump involves 3 screws a a few hose clamps and wire connections. A good do-it -yourself project.

Water pump

The water pump on mine 30' LY ,2004 can be changed though the door on the floor. The inlet and outlet comes off by moving clips to the right and releasing the hose. The elec. will be removed, taking care to note the location ofvthe wires.
