Hood Re-do and Decal Remove

Wanted to post some pictures of the hood of our 1995 Land Yacht Mororhome...this is before we get our insignia decaled onto the front. I removed the decals using Duck Adhesive remover...followed by 91% isopropyl alcohol to finish the removing of the adhesive. It was about 4 hours of picking at it. I then sanded the faded shade that decals left behind with a 400 grit (I think that's right)and sprayed it...detached. I used Krylon semi gloss white with primer and it matched perfectly (quick dry). It dried in the sun and I put it back together. Thanks for peeking!

Sincerely,

Tim Eagle

That's funny. My 92 LY had a metal lettering emblem. Not a decal. I guess they got cheap over the years.

Decals

Dang....I wish my decals were that hard to remove. My red stripe on the passenger side started peeling off while being washed!!

No problems with the front so far, but some of the letters appear chipped up close. Spoke with a graphics printer at one of the RV shows and they can reproduce the decals to match easy. If I want them removed and something new, it requires lots of elbow grease to get the glue off.

You're lucky...mine were virtually baked on. Lol your unit is two years older. Lol I love the colors of your decals. Thanks for sharing! @mike1997

We removed our vinyl graphics and had them replaced a few years ago. The removal was quite labor intensive.

Here's a video...

I totally agree! Just the hood took me about 8 hours! It was worth it but I can't imagine doing the whole unit...kudos to you.
