Fuel Discounts

I've not noticed a discussion of fuel discouts on the Land Yacht Forum.
With the costs of fuel being an important part of navigating in these road houses we so dearly love, Maybe sharing of discount information might be of help to others.
#1 Discover Card has been giving me a 5% cash back on fuel.
#2 Bank of America has a 1,2,3 credit card that gives 3% on fuel, 2% on
groceries, and 1% on everything else.
#3 We got a Frequent Fueler Advantage card from Pilot, that offers:
A. Fuel on a credit card at the cash price. ($4.08 diesel for $4.00)
B. A 2 cent per gallon discount (Combiined on $4.00 @ gallon, that's
$3.98 and my discover card which gives me fuel that nets for $3.78
for diesel.) Works for gas to. Sure beat pay extraa for using a
credit card.
Anybody have other ideas?

Several of the major truck stops have bio-diesel at the car/pickup pumps. I did not check the pumps for the big rigs.

I had my Mercedes in for service yesterday and mentioned this fact and the service rep said they are having fuel injector failures from bio-diesel. There has been some chatter that bio diesel causes issues even for the bigger trucks.

The local Chevron and Shell stations are serving regular diesel without the bio option.

Kroger Foods has a gas offer that takes $0.10 a gallon off for every $100 spent during the month up to $2.00 off per gallon with a 35 gallon max limit. I just filled up 35 gallons worth @ $2.26/gallon by just shopping there regularly for food.

We fill up at Kroger, Walmart and Sam's whenever we can, just using our cards.

Their prices always beat whatever else is around.

Gas stations owned and operated by American Indian tribes/casinos frequently have markedly lower prices, too.

That said, part of our daily plan of attack to travel inexpensively is to watch diesel prices and snag a top off when we see a good price, even if it is just a quarter of a tank. Always a good excuse to stretch our legs, give Miss Lily a pee-and-sniff opportunity, etc.

I use Pentagon Federal Credit Union Visa card for 5% rebate on all gas purchased at the pump. Rebate credited to balance each month. No "off months" or limit.

I use Costco Amex at Costco pumps 3% rebate (4% if business account). It's also good for 2% for restaurants.

Gasbuddy.com is good for incorporating a cheap station into your trip.

I watch wholesale gas prices and sometimes have a bit of a heads up on falling prices. I wait out the price spikes if I anticipate lower prices soon ahead. On rising prices, the retail price follows the wholesale very rapidly. On falling prices the retail lags the wholesale. Since many of my local trips are discretionary I can time them for good prices, or simply use up fuel from the tank during high prices, but wait to fill later when prices drop.

We've used the MH as a reserve fuel tank at times. When the cost of gas spikes I siphon the gas from the MH. When the prices are low I fill her back up. I even set up a quick siphon system to make it easier.

My Airstream Interstate uses a Mercedes turbo-diesel engine. The owner's manual specifically states not to use biodiesel rated higher than B5. Hasn't been a problem— except in Arkansas, where I had to try three different stations before I found anything lower than B10. I've used B5 from time to time with no ill effects; it might be different if I used it all the time, though.
