Diesel Land Yacht water tank question!
As all the motorhome folks know, most fresh water tanks on gas LY models are under the bed and on diesels its mounted externally mid frame behind the fuel tank.
Recently while reviewing some older brochures and info on my particular model, it specifically listed "heated holding tanks" and "heated fresh water tank" as standard equipment on both gas and diesel models. That being the issue....has anyone ever had any experiences with tanks freezing and or a possible repair? My understanding was that hot air from the furnace was ducted to the holding tanks and also heated the bath floor. I was not aware of any heat going to the freshwater tank. Considering my fresh water tank froze up last November in Montana, is it possible I had a blocked duct or is this information simply wrong???
I find it odd that the gas model motorhomes with inside water tanks would be heated yet the external mounted tanks on a diesel is not.
