Strange, I've had it on for over two years and no problems sticking to the pebbled fiberglass roof on my 92 36' LY. It's possible that something has penetrated the fiberglass that's causing your issues.

So, what's next. My plan is to coat my roof this spring with some Liquid Rubber just for added insurance.

I wish it would have stuck for me. My next go around will be an EPDM ROOF.

That's why I'm thinking of coating the roof with Liquid Rubber. It's EPDM in a liquid form.

I can say putting down new EPDM isn't that tuff of a job. It's just those edges that hold water and flex making my leaks.

What do you think of this plan?

Have any of you removed the entire edge seal of the fiberglass and replaced it? This Saturday is the day I am going to remove every rivet on the sides, lift the aluminum edge up high enough to clean and lay in new butyl tape and new 1/4 rivets. The front and rear caps do the same but may have to use larger stainless screws to tighten down the transfer bar.
Does this sound like a good plan?

We were told by Camping World never to cover the roof with a solid sheet of paint, rubber, whatever because moisture could get under it and fester between it and the roof? So we went with Dicor leveling caulk around every vent, skylight, etc. as well as the entire roof sheet. No water so far after 2,000 miles back home.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures when you have things pulled apart, and hear about what you find as the possible cause or causes of your leaks. Hope all this effort will finally solve your problem. Good Luck

I have removed, replaced skylight both fans and sealed every thing that goes thru the roof as in all that I have posted here. In three corners of my roof it has leaked. When I apply Dicore self leveling caulk it works till I drive it. I believe the flexing is causing the cracks to open back up. That is why I am going this route possibly because the rivets are a little loose. Mike at the service department with Airstream told me this is the correct route to take. I was concerned about whether the aluminum sides would lift up high enough to get under to clean but he said it would lift up high enough. I will take pictures and post them.

Here are pics of the job
If you notice there is not much roofing under the side lip and most of the rivets looked good from the surface but after a little prying they came up and they were rusty.

WvaBeer, was wondering if your last efforts were successful? From your pictures it was surprising that the fiberglass didn't go under the metal caps farther. No wonder these roofs have such a problem leaking. So the spots where you replaced the rivets, were rivets to begin with? On mine there is such a big dab of caulk I assumed it was a large screw or hex bolt underneath. How long did it take you to finish the job?

It took me about 8 hours. I believe the guy at Airstream that put this motor home together did not care about quality. I have repaired so many things that if it were done right when it was built, it wouldn't have needed done. About 3/4 of the rivets were rusted down deep so that you couldn't tell they were loose untill you pried up on them. Just replacing all the rivets would be a very easy job. They are 1/4 inch and require a large rivet gun 20 bucks from harbor freight.
