96 P30 LY30 front shock replacement
Did a google (again...) and again can find no similar thread...
Bought a pair of Koni's for the front. Also doing springs, ball joints, etc. But it seems the stock shock mounts actually require deflection of the shock shaft in order to fit?
Nothing is broken or bent. Even the beat up shocks I removed had the rubber mounts severely distorted trying to make a straight line between the upper and lower shock mounts.
Problem is, the Koni rubber mounts are much tighter and stiffer than the original shocks I removed. It literally looks like the shock will have a kink in it in order to bolt up to the original mounts. These seems really wrong.
Anybody done this? Or seen this? Or better yet, solved this???
