1995 Motorhome Land Yacht Question

I'm looking at a 1995 Land Yacht motorhome, and there's a gaping hole where I've seen a monitor or television in other units of this age, it's between the seats under the dashboard in the front, right by the doghouse. Can anyone tell me what goes in this hole? If it is for a back-up monitor is there a more modern replacement for it, how costly? Thanks.

1995 Motorhome Land Yacht Question

That is where the TV goes. My 1998 was on its second TV in that location. I toyed with the idea of moving it but ultimately decided to keep it there and update it with a new monitor and Blu-ray player. I still have to finish mounting the sound bar and a little bit of cosmetic trim, but the photo attached shows what it looks like now. I did install two backup and two side view cameras. I considered tying them into the TV but ultimately decided to remove the rearview mirror and mount my monitor up high. You can just see the bottom of the monitor in the photo. It seems more natural to look up at the back up camera versus looking down at the TV since I keep them all on while driving.

The photo of yours looks like itís different dimensions than what I have and DreamRoperís. It looks like you have a series of switches down the driver side that I did not have on mine.

Hey Barnacle Bill
That electronics use is cool.

Hi Tim
That opening is 19.5" X 17"

We just got the rig before New Year's and have been working on punch list stuff from previous owner (autopark brake, truck AC, and new tires).
Found out when driving that cup holders were useless so did a quick replacement.

During this adventure, found the bedroom floor soaked so replaced carpet with hardwood - after caulking roof openings.

Looks like they changed the dash layouts a lot - I would like to upgrade radio but limited in space as the old backup camera takes up a lot of room - not quite ready to combine radio and camera with a modern solution.

I'm hoping the one we plan on looking at is in a little better shape. But buying used can always lead to adventures!
