1991 LY Onan generator

Hi, I am unsure how to check the oil level on my generator. I assume the LY needs to be on a level surface. But the generator itself has an oil pan that is at a slant when the LY is level. So I am not sure if I am getting a correct read on the oil level. Is the oil pan supposed to be level to the surface when I check the dipstick? Thanks for any advice.

I wondered the same thing at first, My 6.5 Onan sits the same way with the left side (forward) sitting lower and the manual shows it the same way, I assume it is correct. Mark

On my last onan it had a dipstick, but hard to identify, it looked like a button with a ridge on the top that you could twist it off with pliers, usually had oil and dirt on it so it was hard to see.
