Thanks Steve, will look at both front and back marker lights after work, and after Home Depot run. Want some of the 'D' channel molding you put on your exterior drawers. Found wet areas along top of front side windows this afternoon. Gotta get all of the water stuff taken care of, before I start ripping up carpet and finding rotted sub-flooring. Thanks, Derek

Ok, I finally found it. Chaplain Kent posted this over 6 years ago, before he sold his Airstream motorhome and went to an Airstream TT. Before you start, call Andy at Inland RV. He'll make sure you have plenty of material to do the job. Then post here the outcome.

And for clarification... here is a pic of the different sections.. except the Schlegle..
Left to right...
Trim Seal #34708(goes all around frame of sliding glass)
Vertical Lip Seal #34713 (Goes on the angled Vertical bar)
Fin Seal #34681 (Goes between the fixed and sliding glass)

As you all prepare to replace your front window seals, I'd like to mention the biggest problem that I had, and still have, until I try it again.

When installing the outer "trim seal" into the the groove that holds it, all goes well along the straight sections of window frame. However, when you get to the two curved corners, you will be bending the thickest part of the seal along the outside radius of a curve, and the most delicate edge of the seal on a tighter inside radius. The tendency is for the thin wiper edge of the gasket to "pucker" as you try to go through the curve. I've ended up with a less than "factory" look. I would suggest practicing with a short piece before the final install. I don't know if it's possible to apply a bit of heat to just the thicker side that gets pressed into the groove, or somehow pre-stretch it a little without destroying it. Good luck.

Not a problem.

Airstream, in production, trimmed off some of the trim seal that rides on the glass, in the area of the 2 radius corners.

That eliminate the "puckering".

I have a question, for you Andy, as I worked on my seals today..

How the hell do you get the "Fin Seal", AND the "Vertical Lip Seal" out, and indeed back in?
Do you have to drill out the rivets and remove the Extrusion on the back of the fixed glass?
I spent an hour trying to get the little fin seal out.... and FAILED.
Please enlighten me!

To all those about to 'attempt' their window track seals repair. I haven't tried this yet, but thinking this is the best description yet of how to do this.

As best I can see, that info is for the main body windows.

I did or tried one of mine yesterday.

Remember, the fixed fwd section of glass is NLA I hear.... and its a very complex shape!

Getting the sliding glass out was not too tricky...
Push the glass fwd, and pull out the old schlegle, top and bottom.
My Schlegle was a mess... came out in about 5 pieces!
Pull the glass back to about 2" open position
Lift the glass UP, and push the lower edge inboard to clear the track.

The vertical lip seal and the trim seal, are simply "pulled out".

The sliding window must be removed in order to remove and reinstall the fin seal.

Clean all the channels out before you attempt to reinstall any of those gaskets.

Andy The pic you show is very interesting with the edge part of the trim seal cut back. Is there a thread that details how to do this, or some type of jig for cutting it to fit properly?

I'm gonna wager a guess that the guy on the airstream line simply wielded one of these and eyballed it

To ask whether anyone has any of the grey edge seal for our front/side windows that they don’t need and would sell? I have not been able to locate any in stock online at this time and I’ve already started digging into the job of refurbishing those windows.

Much appreciated. Also, I’m missing a couple of these small rubber or plastic deals, not sure what they do but seems like a water ingress location?
