Arrow What years size & motor/MPG

Can we get a chronological list of what was made over the years.

I assume the diesels get reasonable MPG and the gasers get low numbers.

Airstream's diesels averaged 16 MPG.

But, they were the biggest noisemaker around.

Almost needed ear plugs.

You will find that whilst I am sure someone somewhere knows a fair bit about what was produced and when, you will not find that info within Airstream...
If you call or ask, nobody has any idea.
I suggest you sift thru Fred's site... it has an archive of motorhomes divide by years...

There is an active thread in the "General Motorhome" section on the issue of what mileage different models get, http://www.airforums.com/forums/f160...eage-9021.html

My diesel pusher is very quiet up front. Much more so than any front engine gassers if driven.

2X on Fred's site as a good source.

Great thread, but it tends to steer away from what I thought would be the main topic, mpg for Airstream moho's. If you can sift through the posts, it's looking as if 6 to 8mpg with 454's, and 12 to 16 with the Izuzu turbo-diesel.
Reading what I have about both engines, the Chevy 454 is about bullet-proof, as long as properly maintained, same with Izuzu, just don't go to NAPA expecting them to have each and every part available for the diesel. Good with the bad. Take it as you may.
Thanks, Derek

Park, Drive, Reverse...that should just about cover it...

A thread that wanders???...say it ain't so!!!
We get 5-6 with our 454(ok, maybe 420, now)...and anything over 6 is...well...over 6...point A to Point B(albeit s l o w l y), park it, toad around, and consider where the next point B is gonna be...yep, stressful

Cummins 5.9 Turbo inercooled with a 6 speed Allison auto. It's 36 foot and gets about 13 mpg. (1995)

In 94 and 95 Airstream offered the Classic 36 on a Spartan EC2000 rear diesel engine pusher chassis. I's sure others have the info on other Airstream diesels.
