What to do with empty TV spaces?

I recently bought a 1992 300LE. Both the front and the bedroom tvs are missing. The PO had an Emerson LCD hooked up on the center table, but didn't include it in the rig.
So I'm considering at least an LCD in the front above the dash. And I would only want to be able to connect to local antenna stations wherever I may park.
Eventually when I start using the rig more, then I'll go with perhaps Dish or some techy stuff.
So for now, what LCD and what hardware do I need to get just the off air channels? The original Winegard batwing antenna is up there.

I'd just measure the spaces and go from there. Remember that the new digital TV broadcast system will work much better with an antenna tuned to the new bands; you may need to replace the batwing.

Uhhh, I don't have a favorite photo of you, so...

I guess an LCD will have to do. I looked into closing off the space with a door and installing a scissor mount with the tv onto it.

I'll research about the digital system and see if I should replace the batwing or be content with a temporary poor signal, as I would only use it sporadically at rest stops.

Get a swing arm, that way the TV can be pulled out and turned. Then add an AppleTV, a BluRay and a DirecTV. You are all set.

Please enlighten me about Apple tv. What is that?

I know about BlueRay (it's the new type dvd) and I know about Direct or Dish (for satellite signals).

I'm not very techy so I just ordered a 16" LED/LCD combo (DVD) and a swing arm mount. I figure I'll be happy with any signal I can get off air while I'm resting at rest stops. I chose the 16" because it would still allow mw to open the side cabinets while it's locked closed during travel. If I end up not appreciating that size later, I'll go larger.

Eventually, when I start doing trips more often, I'll invest in more technology after I research it some more.

AppleTV is many things. Click on the link to read up about it. Useful if you have Apple products. Otherwise, check out the Amazon FireStick. You might consider that as well. Both of these products provide streaming service whenever you have WiFi available.

Any TV antenna that picks up UHF should work just fine.
The Winegard Batwing on our 83 Excella and the original folding antenna on our 65 Caravel both provide nice digital high definition over the air when available.
Don't go out and spend $ for another antenna until you try the one you have.

Yes, it's a 12V TV/DVD combo. Just got the swing mount today and still waiting on the TV. I'll post a pic of the install.
