What did you get for your Motorhome today?

Don't you just love it when you get something to improve your Motorhome?
Time we had a place to share the joy!

Here are my grins for today!

I was just trawling CraigsList late last night when I spotted a Cyclo Polisher Model 5 for sale...
It was late, so I called the guy this morning and was surprised to find he still had it!
A chat revealed he was given it via his Uncle, a few years back, and he had no need for it.
I jumped in my car, and drove the 50 miles, right away.
It works fine, and came with some pads..
I think $100 is a fair price, as it was made in 1996...

When I got home there was a large box on my doorstep....
My Edelbrock Performer Intake had arrived!
Used and dirty, but in great shape!
Another $100 invested!

What did you get????

Come on, doesn't a couple of days of crawling around under your your motorhome with many years of highway crud falling in your face sound like fun?

Cheers, Dan

Hi John,
I bought supplies from Discount Hydraulic Hose.com.

I bought a HWH system used that came from a larger coach. I wanted to make sure everything worked properly before spending extra money. The hose looked tired but didn't leak. I just coiled up the extra hose under the coach. Everything is great so now it's time to tiddy things up a bit.

HWH uses 1/4" R7 Thermoplastic hose. It is .51" O.D. and has a minimum bend radius of 1-1/4". I ordered reusable fittings so that I could field install the fittings myself. The reusable fittings are spendy but it's really hard to get an exact length for each hose without actually installing the hose on the coach. Trying to run a tape measure down the frame and in and around obstacles just doesn't work. With reusable fittings I can install a fitting on the hose, install the hose, connect that fitting and cut the other end of the hose to the exact length and install the other fitting. It makes for a nice custom fit and properly installed job. Also if you sometime in the future have a hose failure, just buy the hose and reuse your fittings. It's much cheaper than having a hose made at the local hydraulic shop. The whole thing cost me about $300 and that will give me several feet of extra hose should I need it in the future.

Cheers, Dan

Nothing fun, just an important item. A new alternator. Ours went kaput while out driving to local KOA to fill propane tank. Glad it wasn't on an outing.

The latest other then a T-shirt with a 345 on the front, purchased a water regulator with a guage and adjustable! Hopt to be able to adjust up more then the 45lbs of the fixed reulators. The manual suggests that with 75lbs incomming, the MH regulator from the factory, (if still working) will put out approx 45 - 55lbs. Better showers whith full hook!!!!!

I replaced it with another 105 amp. It was pretty easy as it sits on the top right of the engine. Wasn't thinking that I shouldn't tighten the belt though. It seemed a little loose before starting. Tightening the old belt made it splinter into many peices taking out 2 more belts with it. I guess next weekend I'll get around to replacing all of them.
I stayed with the lower amp alternator as I'll be converting to LED's on the outside. I don't like the way the headlight switch gets hot.

I carry a spare 105 but wondered if the larger option GM offers would wire in OK.

I also wonder if we could split out all of the running lights and have them on a separate circuit, switch. Ricky

there is the switch to Blink the running lights. so that is split off some way.

I was having lots of alternator problems, squeaking, breaking belts, not charging. It replaced with 220amp alt last weekend. Replacing isolator with 240amp unit today. I should not have alt problems again. High output is expensive though.

Powerful

Upgraded to a large body 200amp...single wire...had to recurve the top adjustment slot, but everything else was a slip in fit.
Now I don't watch the voltage gauge drop as I drive at night.
Also the hummervolt replaced with a Intella 60 amp.

It is a Coleman. It runs off the coleman fuel(LPG I guess) It works just like any drip coffee maker only there is nothing to plug in. Just add filter, coffee, and water and in 15 min you have 12 cups of very hot coffee.
