Harbor Freight Parking Lot Sale

So,

Emailed a flyer by HF over the weekend, saw that they had the Infrared Laser Thermometer at a really good price. Knew Keyair had purchased one, texted him about price, ($25.00, a $20 savings)

Of course, you just don't go to HF and walk away with one item. Reading through posts here on the Forum, I've read about the difficulties of using the rear air tank for the front air horns. My air horns have been replaced with electric air horns, which to me sound pretty awful. Found a air pump, had a 20% off coupon, and figured I'd just install air pump somewhere up front and do away with having that 30 feet of air hose from rear to front.

But then, because I had kept my monthly coupons, also got a Multimeter for FREE!

All in all, a great Sunday for Airstream shopping!

Derek

We just got back from a trip to Montana that included taking the carpet out of the 310 and replacing it with floating laminate flooring. I bought six boxes, a little over 80 sf, at Home Depot, and used every piece. It turned out okay considering I was working with mostly clunky unfamiliar tools. I was done in a day and a half, if I had tried real wood I would probably still be in Montana. As expected, the flooring is colder on the feet than carpet but easy to clean (the carpet and padding that came out was probably a biohazard) and I noticed no increase in road noise. Also replaced the flourescent fixture over the bed at the rear of the coach with airplane style reading lights, Amazon.com: Arcon 17796 Rectangular Aluminum 12V Aircraft Style Double Light: Automotive

Well, I bought a vintage kitchen table that I want to retrofit into our '78 Argosy...not sure the hubby is on board...but it does inspire! Also got the fabric needed to recover the gaucho and chairs! That has approval...these things take time and convincing. ;-)

Have not posted anything in a while , but back in August got a 17 foot Sea Hunt center console with a 100 hp Yamaha 4 stroke . Installed a hitch on the front end to launch boat with , haven't tried that one yet . But everywhere we camp there is water so it sounded good to me . Now go camping and fill cooler with fish !!!

Installing a Pacbrake exhaust brake. It the new PRXB model with a pressure regulator vs the old style with a fixed orifice. The PRXB only comes in the 4" or bigger so I had to weld up adapters to put it inline in the 3 inch pipe.

Been there, done that, and it takes a lot longer and requires a lot more work than you can imagine....

Tip.....get some 3/8"x 3/4" flat stock aluminum bar and cut two pieces 4 1/2" long. Drill and tap holes coresponding to the hinges and mount the bar with Premium Pro into the interior wall. That way if a hinge ever goes bad again you can replace the hinge without having to touch the interior walls.

Pics are here halfway down the page

Thats a good tip Tony, I wish Airstream would have thought of something similar in the early 80s

Airstream build trailers and moho's like Ford build their vehicles......build it so people can't work on them and they will have to come back for service. Come to think of it, I wonder what Jackson center charges to replace door hinges, (properly) on a Classic moho.

Cheers

Ya, i was wondering that myself. I dont even want to guess what it would cost. Ive got the door skins off and need to take a closer look at the interior. What type of rivet or fastener did you use to reattach the screen door Tony?

Guess no longer.

Simply call Airstream at 937-5966111, and ask.

They will be glad to give you a quote.

Andy
