how to reset the Overheat breaker, water heater
this was the issue. I had 120 at the switch
120 going into switch box on Heater unit.
so reading the directions on the heater cover, red lettering.
It explained how to re set the overheat, breaker.
I used an ink pin that was handy
wallllaaaaa, Lots of HOT water via 120 AC for the 1st time since we have owned this coach. Propane was the method before. and when electric is included in the camp site fee. It will be nice to limit the use of propane for us to purchase.

replaced all 4 Head Light 3 way conectors also
From summit racing
I used some D. grease to coat the Head Light prongs also.
I have also covered all of the bare floor areas with 1 inch insulation-sound proof matting. the same that we used when we re did the Dog House project 2 years ago.

Led
Looking good John.
I understand now why you have no corn planted yet!
I tried the LED's in one Slimline that the ballast went on, but I was not that impressed so have ordered a new ballast. When I want light, I want lots of light, and the LED'S just did not do it for me for the kitchen area. Great for other areas though. We have lots of batteries on the Clipper so the bit of light usage is not the problem.

John:
If you make that thing look any nicer the factory is going to come and take it away from you.
They will want it to use for a sample to put them back in production!

Wet, yes, On Thursday the ground was so saturated that you could not walk across the lawn, Nor a wheat field.
It was the 1st. day the sun did shine and as I drove across the countryside from Findlay to Mansfield I saw at least 3, maybe 4 Mowing tractors stuck as everyone tried to catch up. and get out and about some.
It will be 10 days to 2 weeks before any corn is Planted in this area of Ohio, Indiana.
so Projects such as getting the Planters ready. and Other
HaHa, Like the 120 DC Hot water heater Keep our sanity for now.

Well I don't get as much done as some of you guys but I did rip out the dinette and installed a couple of used chairs from a 34.5 and built a cabinet along the wall with a fold down table. I'm going to add some sliding doors to the open shelves on each end. I will use cane inserts to match the doors under the sink and over the refer. I moved the 120V and 12V/TV antenna receptacles from the wall to just left of the table. I have to have the chairs reupholstered but for now it's much more comfortable than the old dinette.
Cheers, Dan

Thanks John and Mike. Actually I'm a machinist by trade and hate working with wood, it frustrates the he!! out of me. Paying somebody else to do stuff frustrates me even more so I muddle through. It does take me forever but being retired makes that a non issue.
No Mike I don't have a parts 34.5, I bought the chairs from another member here on Airforums. I just wish I could find a set of aluminum wheels now. The steel wheels just don't make it and I really dislike the wheel covers.
For now my ample sized body is much more comfortable than it was in the old dinette.
Cheers, Dan

Speaking of "ample sized bodies", don't forget, we need to do lunch at "Fat Smittys" when we get up to Oak Bay.

I don't think they are that smart these days....
But if they did I bet they would use wafer board subfloors still!
Looking thru the Trailer forums and reading about sagging/cracking frames, and popping rivets on the newer units, I realize that we have the "Heyday" built Airstreams!

I think you're right. Mine has a few "Beatriceisms", but has proved to be a solid, well-built coach.

Smartstream, that looks real nice!
Interesting that yours had a Dinette behind the Passenger seat, like mine still does.
Any pics of how it was?

Thanks Keyair. I'll have to look a bit to find a before pic but it was a pretty straight forward bench seat set up. There was a 5" or 6" radius on the front edge of the bench with a horizontal sliding tambour to access storage below. The biggest difference is the distance from the cockpit step to the door is several inches shorter on the 280 than on your 34.5. This makes the dinette child size.
There is a version of the 280 that had a fold out table and two chairs but the chairs were smaller and no side cabinet. I actually ran into a guy with that set up and he was interested in the dinette. He had young kids if I remember correctly. Anyway I told him I would be happy to make a trade and he said great. Then he came over and sat in my dinette, changed his mind real quick.
I guess it was alright for smaller sized people but I don't fit in that category. At the end of a long day on the road I need a comfortable chair to relax in so this is my solution. Thanks for looking.
Cheers, Dan

Sound just like mine, with the Tambour sliders below and all.
I want to mod my interior too, and like the idea of a pair of recliners there, with seat belts for people to relax in whilst I drive, and also be able to face the people on the couch.
If I do that mod tho, there is no place to eat...
I think for now I will put some seatbelts in the Dinette seats, so that they can be used safely when traveling, and decide the bigger picture later.

I found a couple of pics. The first is with the table down and the second is with the chairs when we picked them up at the freight warehouse. You can see the curve of the cushions and a little of the base in the second pic. The end bulkheads are thin, maybe 1 1/2" to 2" thick. I think the overall from the cockpit step to the door is about 67" I don't know if the door locations vary but the 34.5 that the chairs came from that dimension was about 84" if I remember correctly.
I actually have two small recliners but they barely fit in the space and no way possible to recline. The fold-up table I built isn't real big but there are only two of us so it's fine for our meals. The original is a little larger but there is no way four people could sit unless they were about 7 years old. You can see the size of the new chairs setting on the old cushions.
We do have two TV tray sized tables that mount on posts in the center of the aisle but then you would have to convince Hagar to let you use a little bit of his couch to sit. I don't think they have ever been out of the closet and I have no idea where the posts are.
If you have any more questions just yell.
Cheers, Dan
