I went ahead and sent a message to the seller asking if he would ship to the US. Most likely not...

If not, you can always borrow my one Brad, or I can get another sent to my brother and he will post over.

I appreciate that! It's odd that he will ship just about everywhere but the US.
Maybe he doesn't like Americans

I like the looks of the roller on your tool. I had trouble pushing mine through the channel. It had a tendency to dig in to the rubber. Let us know how it works.

If you don't hear back in a day or so I will order a few of the tools Brad and get them sent over, with my next 'Red Cross' parcel....I can't survive for long without supplies from 'home'.

You got me laughing on that one
When I worked on Johnston Island packages from home were always a welcome sight

Good friend of mine worked at the loran station there and I pulled in a few times on different Coast Guard cutters for a mid patrol break/liberty port.

The Loran tower was knocked down in the early to mid 90s, can't remember the exact year. Not much of a place for liberty was it
Out of a 12 year span I have a total of about 8 years on island. Interesting place to live and work.
I don't remember any Coast Guard ships pulling into port during my years there. That sort of activity was frownd on during the years we processed munitions.

My new replacement fuel tank arrived today.
Marked as made in Canada. That means it's a good tank, right Tony & John?!
Looks to be the same as the original except there are no baffles inside. Maybe they thought I wouldn't notice

if you read my link in the TBS thread to the surge tank info, you will see that they mention "poorly baffled tanks".

Is there a difference between "no baffles" and "poorly baffled"?
Yep, I read the link. The surge tank sounds interesting and is probably the ultimate solution.

There's another issue with "poorly baffled tanks." No problem with performance, but they eat fuel gauges. My 310's original owner made and installed a 104 gallon welded aluminum tank with very little baffling. When I got it, the fuel gauge didn't work. Long into the restoration we dropped the tank and replaced the sender, which was mechanically worn out. The new sender lasted about 3000 miles of sloshing up and down and has now failed too. So... you might want to consider a capacitive fuel gauge or something else.

Wow, more good news
Can't seem to catch a break when it comes to finding the correct parts. Last night I double checked my old tank and there are two baffles in it. The new one definitely has NO baffles.
It sure would be nice to know why manufacturers can't seem to make something that actually matches the OEM part. Frustrating to say the least.
Thanks for the heads up!
Brad
