I like that electrical panel!!!!
Nice stuff!

I had a little win today...
My original steering wheel was toast, and I got quoted about $300 to recover it..
Here it is in all its glory..

Had an Ebay Gift certificate from my son!
Today, I won what looks like an identical OEM steering wheel...
The seller quotes that is a "Formuling Wheel" made in France.
It has the correct 9 bolt fitting and whilst mine measures about 17", and the seller quotes this as 16", I think it will work fine..

Steve, your new steering wheel looks great! Looks just like mine. I just measured mine and it is 16" so you should be fine.

By the way I still have that a/c interior cover sitting in the garage!

Steve, I like the new wheel! I'm going to use the steering wheel hub from the 345 in the Argosy but like your original wheel the one in the 345 was a mess. I did a little searching on ebay and came up with the following possibilities. I never liked the 3-spoke arrangement that Airstream used, it blocks off part of the speedometer and tach. I even tried turning the steering wheel upside down with the middle spoke up and that didn't help.

15.5" 9-hole 3-spoke steering wheel

15.5" 9-hole 2-spoke steering wheel

Here's something I bought for the Argosy a couple of days ago. Nice new A/C parallel flow 18x30 condenser. Now if I can just find the rest of the parts to make the dash A/C system work!

Thanks Guys!
I really feel lucky to have spotted it, as Derek and I had been talking about steering wheels last week, and how a wood rim would be nice...
I was doing a search, and trying different keywords and it popped up...
This was what the seller said...
This was installed on a prototype motorhome for a 2 week RV show about 15 years ago, then removed. I have kept if stored inside since. It's listed as "New - Other" as it wasn't really used, just mounted and shown. Looks like new and the leather is great (kept it soft).
It's been in a box in my garage for far too long! If you're looking for a 16" dia. Brown Leather Wrapped replacement or upgrade for a GM chassis motorhome (P30 or van - that's almost all brands), standard boat mounting, van, truck or ?, it will be hard to find a nicer one. The leather is nice (see the pics) with no cracking.
The photos show the leather a bit darker than it is. It is a true brown, slightly dark brown, not black. Stamped "Made in France" on the back.

What is important to know is that that 9 bolt pattern is quite common.
Yes, Brad, I saw those wheels and liked them, but living here in CA and having that billet aluminum on the back could be an issue!
I will keep my old one, and when we have the money to have the interior seating done, I will polish the spokes and have it recovered in matching leather!

Dean, Your MH is a gem, and then fact that your father cherished it and you have so many memories is a pleasure to behold!
Please PM me on that cover, as I still want/need it!

I really hesitate to buy anything from those hokey loud TV adds but the induction cooking system from Nu Wave seemed like a pretty slick system for the RV. Anyone have any experience with induction cooking?

Steve, any idea where a guy could find the Airstream horn button? Mine is aftermarket, almost the only unoriginal thing on this 24' Excella. I must have one!

Chris,

If you can find the same style of horn button that says Argosy I'll trade you for the one I have that say Airstream

Brad, I will look around here, maybe get lucky. Or, maybe there is something else from my '79 you would like. I am sort of restoring, and some things are going. Possibly a gaucho bed, the big mirror from bathroom, spice rack, original 110v vac.,original RM100 refer woodgrain panels. Cash?
