You might want to e-mail Tom Clancy and check around for hidden compartments; your orphan could have been made for the CIA.

Not: the turbo was listed (for the 28 footer) as 0-30mph-10.6 sec., 0-50mph-29.7 seconds. She is not that fast (especially with all the crap that full-timers drag around), but with the overdrive, I can pass farm machinery, if I get a run at it. I believe the longevity of our Isuzu is, since it was basically, a industrial, in place engine (gen sets for fishing boats), I run at, and do not exceed 3200 rpm and Bess has always been a long-haul coach.

Interesting, I have a 79-81 Airstream service manual and it shows the Isuzu as being 353 cu. in. and 130 hp @3200 rpm and 253 ft. lb. torque @ 1900 rpm. In the above link it lost 2 cu. in. and gained 20 hp and 36 ft. lb. of torque. The manual does not indicate a turbo which I think was offered in 82 while the above link indicates 1980 as the year of the coach. Also the in 82 the GVW increased to 14500 lbs.

Cheers, Dan

Double interesting, because our first mo/ho was a '79 28' Excella, which was turbo-charged, with the Mercedes-Benz style chrome letters.

Paula, I wonder if the difference in color is due to fading. Perhaps the odd door was stuck open for several years?

Actually it is the unit--not the tambour door

Okay, it appears that they are in units and put together where the span is longer.....the one that is odd colored is the one on the curb side forward the door. Curbside aft the door are two and they are of the pinker color and all of the ones on the streetside are the same pinker color as the aft ones.....I am not sure what you call them....on an airplane they are overhead bins......the tambours all seem to be the same color......so I don't see how the sun could have done it on all sides and underneath the same on that one unit..........or perhaps it was damaged in an accident and that one was replaced......this is truly a mystery MH...

No Classic badging on the 82 24'

Also, there is no badging.....like Classic or 240 or anything on the outside.

"Dum da dum dum." I'd check with NSA, being a Florida coach, who knows what they used it for?

Maybe check with NASA. Might have been used to transport the chimp/human hybrids that pilot our spy sattelites to the launch pad.

I've got just about every piece of paper pertaining to the "creation" of my 325 Custom, from blueprints, to specs, to build sheet, but not a single thing that mentions prices. I am under the impression (from some source?, previous owner?) that the Cumins/Allison option in it went for $12k-$14k back in 1990.

Must have been lovely to have had money, in the eighties, to stroll into the AS dealer and pick all the options.

Back when $150 Grand would buy you a real nice house.
