Vulture Attack/ Andy?

Coming southbound out of Alturas,CA the other day, saw a big road-kill deer on the other side, tons of crows and vultures feeding away. All of a sudden a vulture tried to fly across the road, hit us and became roadkill himself. Crashed into the curbside bumper fairing, tore the whole thing apart, though the turn signal housing made it but I'm sure the bumper got bent, no big deal. The problem is the fibreglass fairing, which is three-piece, of which only the curbside got trashed, center is fine. Can we get a fairing or is it hand-repair time? Thanks, M

Hi Mike, man you gotta watch that roadkill. Andy has the banana wraps in fiberglass. I think the originals are ABS. The new one will require some hand fitting. You need to trim around the edges a little at a time. Everything is curved and flexible so you have to play with it a bit. The bottom had an extra flair that had to be cut off. They are not an exact match but I don't think the factory wraps were a perfect fit either. The biggest problem I had was the recess for the turn signal housing was too small and took some creative trimming to to make it all work. The fit between the new wrap and the center section was a little stretch also but I got it together. Just be aware that it is not a simple r & r job and requires a little patience.

By the way mine was done in by a tow truck turning too sharp. I was able to straighten the bumper on a press with some wood blocks and a lot of patience. I guess it's part of classic AS Moho ownership.

Cheers, Dan

It just looked like a rabbit, it was actually a vampire Jackalope. A Vampire Jackalope can morph between these two forms. These two specimens were killed near La Pine in 2007.

That would have been my story.

Is that a wildfire in the background of your avatar?
It looks like the view from my patio a couple weeks ago.

Regards,

Ken

How many guys from Eagle River does it take to eat a vulture??
Two, one to eat the vulture, one to watch for traffic.
