RE: Vintage Airstreams at Eaton Rapids
There would have been more Vintage Airstreams at Eaton Rapids if the event was held on another weekend. This was the same weekend that the Tin Can Tourist Fall Gathering was held in Milford, MI, where approximately 25-30 Vintage Airstreams attended. Hopefully next year the event calendar will be adjusted like it was in previous years to facilitate additional vintage attendance.
Regards,
StevieB

My wife and I have attended Urban Air for 4 years. Here are some quick facts I believe are correct: This year, about 86 units were present. This was down from last year. Truthfully, the event was somewhat better with less people! This sounds backwards, but the town isn't large and a capacity does in fact exist. The dinners, and entertainment seemed to go better.
Power is not an issue. Don't hit the AC button and all will be well!
Parking the trailers butt to bumper is done with both tractor and regular TV sometimes. The street is shut down for a couple of hours Friday morning. The prestaged vehicles are brought up a couple at a time and put in place. The main street fills, then others are put on side streets and outer parking lots. These are rarely shown in the wonderful photos posted.
Exiting on Sunday is not a problem. Basically, you get up, prep and wait for the guy in front to leave. Just FYI, I was one of the last on the street at 10:30ish on Sunday. Many coffee shops and restaurants are open for a nice breakfast before departing.
It was well known that Urban Air conflicted with TCT. It's unfortunate, but the date was determined by Eaton Rapids. Additional city events were running concurrently. The City Manager (who was present the entire weekend) correctly stated "There is enough Airstreams for both". It's unfortunate that we had to choose though.
Urban Air is an amazing rally! I really encourage everyone to experience it at least once.

Shoot, I wish I would have known that, I would have loved to have met you in person. Actually I was around that spot all weekend, so who knows, we probably did meet and just don't know it.

Well since it was reported:
It was well known that Urban Air conflicted with TCT. It's unfortunate, but the date was determined by Eaton Rapids. Additional city events were running concurrently. The City Manager (who was present the entire weekend) correctly stated "There is enough Airstreams for both". It's unfortunate that we had to choose though.
It is obvious that then, ... they don't care to have Vintage Airstreams if the City Manager said the above. In the past, it was always a different weekend from the TCT event that has been going on for years. I will plan accordingly next year if it is the same weekend, since "There was enough Airstreams for both."

Please don't read incorrect emotions into what I or the manager said. I probably didn't express the thought the best.
The city manager is very much "pro" all airstreamers. His support is great. He even passed out his own "coupons" for us for coffee or ice cream at local shops that HE personally paid for. Please don't think for one minute that he doesn't want vintage units. Nothing could be further from the truth. He constantly came around to be sure we had everything we need. Campground owners could learn a lot from this guy!
Like I said previously, what he said is correct. There is enough Airstreamers for both events. They may attempt to move the date, they may not. Eaton Rapids can best support a finite amount of participants. Over 100 is a little overwhelming.
I didn't like to choose either. We had planned to premier our Around the World trailer at TCT this year, but chose Urban Air instead.
Do know this: additional Urban Air events will exist next year in addition to Eaton Rapids. Hopefully, you may be able to attend one.
I am not any kind of "organizer" or official for Urban Air. I've been fortunate to participate for four years. I'm a huge proponent for what the rally does and what it stands for. I probably shouldn't have even replied to what I have already!
Peace.

There is the Texas Country Air event at downtown Quanah, Texas, too.
