Too hot, so I did some Badge Refinishing...

Took the Badges off the Spare wheel cover cos they were badly weathered..
Hit the 345 badge first... lightly sandblasted it and then hit it with some Semigloss black, then hit the polished face with 100, then 150, then 320 paper, then 600wet...
Not sure if I should polish it to a high gloss or leave it kinda brushed finish..
What do you all think?

Those badges look great although I can say I've never seen a red brick tire cover...

Thanks!
Mmmm, well, in this case you would have to "Follow the red brick road!"

I think I'd stick with the lightly brushed finish you have now. Looks good and should be easy to live with.

Very nice. Hand sand or machine?

I have a small sandblast cabinet, that I used to strip the paint, then I used a Ryobi Palm sander, and a Dremel multimax... both worked good.
I finished with 600 wet/dry with a hand block...
Working on the LIMITED Badge now...

Oh, anyone refinished the steering wheel badge?
Mine, all the white is falling or fallen out...
What about using Bath Enamel repair paint to refill it?

I suggest spraying a clear coat to keep the aluminum from oxidizing.
