I do know reading Dave's post about his 360's was the rad/intercooler getting all choked up with dust and dirt as blow by from the engine would cake it with an oily mixture and dirt and dust would stick to it.
As for condition of the undercarriage, it didn't look bad in my book; new shocks and a little surface rust but yes this rig is going to need some serious elbow grease and money to get her back into shape.
Funny thing is; with my 310, is was the excellent mechanical (air compresser outstanding) and frame condition over the interior that closed the deal; where as the mechanical on this 360 didn't scare me as much as that ceiling in the front part of the coach; how the bejeezers to you fix that?
Peter, do what feels right and makes you sleep well; let someone else have the headaches.
Cheers
Tony

Hah, Tony, I was thinking just the opposite. I am more concerned about the mechanics, not knowing a damn thing about DP's.
The ceiling is a mess and it is the entire coach, but the fix is not as complicated as you may think.
All fixtures and the upper cabinets have to be removed. Then you strip the old stuff, kinda a pain, because some of the foam backing does not come of in one piece. Then you completely tape and plastic everything, put on your hazmat suit including full face respirator and spray Landau top high temp contact cement. there are many options for replacement material which also has be sprayed with the contact cement. Issue is the cost of the contact cement at $80.- gal. and the cost of the material. Regular contact cement will fail again, has to be the high temp stuff rated at 180 degrees.

New headliner is next on my list. I think that this will need to be done on all 360's at some point. When I got my pusher it was in much worse shape with a melted motor and a big dent in the rear panels. Lots of work later, but I love mine!

I appreciate your input and support via pm.
I was not afraid of doing tons of work, nor spending the money to do it right, just learned to be cautious with purchasing anything that has obvious signs of lack of proper maintenance, as the few and limited interior pictures showed. Usually that kind of attitude is reflected in all the systems and we all know there are many.

It's a smart thing not to let an attractive price draw you into an uncomfortable situation Peter.
You have been dealing with these old motorhomes long enough to have well developed instinct, good on you for paying attention to them.
I very much want to connect with you on my way tru Austin, my turn to buy lunch. I'll keep you posted on timing. We will be staying at a nearby park that my Sister has located. Since I am moving to Fla. we are going to be something of a convoy. Coach with car in tow, plus Sister driving my truck loaded with stuff. A bit much to subject your neighbors to.
Look forward to catching up.
Cheers Richard

Enjoying some very moderate temperatures in the Colorado high country after leaving a brutal 106 degrees in Austin.
The comforts of the 30' Excella trailer are helping my separation anxiety from the Classic Motorhomes. Its amazing the kind of rigs I have seen on this trip. Many semis pulling 5th wheels, carrying 2 Motorcycles or a Smart car behind the cab.

Yes, Mike, staying at the Blue Spruce Campground in the beautiful Valecito Valley NE of Durango. Just a mile North at the end of the road is a real beautiful National Forest campground with incredible sites, accessible by any RV. I could even pull my 30' in there. For sure no problem for any Classic MY. Some sites even have electric. It s called Valecito National forest campground.

my mini project, the 1996 Airstream B-190 is coming right along. New center seat vinyl and matching door panels. I kept the white vinyl of the captain chairs, just had the center cloth replaced.

A little update on the Airstream jacket..
Been staying in the Airstream trailer in an RV Park for almost 2 month now, while working on a historical home in San Marcos, Texas.
My Airstream Bvan was parked at the jobsite, for our pup and coffeebreaks.
The house used to be owned by Dick Burdick, who is the owner of the Classic car museum dicksclassicgarage.com (a picture of a 31 Cadillac below)
Very glad to be back home and resume a more normal life.
Some before and after pictures of the restorations

Howdy Peter!!! As always your work on the restoration is beautiful. You sure get to work on some gorgeous buildings, very rewarding to bring them back to their former glory. I bet you're glad to be home for sure!

Peter, a nice looking B190 up in Denver!
Pick up your pipe and play a tune, and you can have twins!
