Our Blanco Christmas Rally turned into a mini Motorhome Rally with Chris's 350LE, Bills 325 and Bens Argosy.
Always lots to talk about when the MH heads get together

Peter:
Thanks for the invite! We really had fun and it was great to have people to associate with screen names. A great bunch of folks for sure! Next year we'll be in for the duration. It was a pleasure to meet everyone and particularly to talk motorhomes and see others! Thanks again!

There ya go Peter. I guess I should have posted that in the 12v thread. But it looks like the exact same as yours. Pay no attention to the red #12 with the yellow connector coming off the top on the right post. I picked up power there for something else. But it does look like a #10 like yours in question.

Thanks Mike.
I just don't get why they used a 10 ga wire to run 5 feet back to the starter relay and on to the battery on 1 lead and to the fuse box on another.
Any wiring experts that can shed some light on this ?

As you can see it is a 2-piece affair.

One of the wires in the diagram I posted is a 16 gauge fusible link. I think the thing that surprises me the most is the battery charging circuit passes through this fusible link. Not sure how that's supposed to work especially with an alternator putting out 140 amps or more.

Hopefully someone smarter that us will chime in and explain this configuration!

Sorry, I'm no help on this one

Brad

Awesome, Brad. I will be installing a new fan clutch this weekend and can investigate my situation a little closer.

Don't be afraid to grind or or otherwise remove the rivets from that metal guard to give better access. Just get four 3/8-16x1" grade 8 bolts and bolt back in place when you're done.

Your knuckles will thank you!

Fan clutch was easy to reach from above.
And Lo and Behold, my fan shroud is a 2 piece as well. Thanks for the offer, Brad.

I assume you mean that you want the fan shroud shipped your way?

No Brad, save it for someone that really needs it. Since I have the 2 part, I am fine with my patch.

So far it would appear that the demand for fan shrouds isn't all that great

I'll just leave it in the barn for the time being...

Darn fan clutch took longer than I thought, but I was able to get it out and in from above. Took her for a long hard drive, new fan clutch never engaged, since I stay under 200. Just had a problem at the parade last weekend. They were moving at walking speed and half way through the parade it was running at 220, with no clutch engaging. I turned all the heaters on full blast for the rest of the parade.
Unfortunately, I still have the voltage fluctuation. I guess its time for a new alt

I'd say you got that problem whipped! Where did you buy your fan clutch from?

Have you have the alternator tested under load by a repair shop? Not sure they could detect the problem you having but you never know.

That's my plan for today, but it has to come out from below or the side Stop by, if you are in the neighborhood

If the fan was removed could you bring it out the top?

Wish I had the time to drop by but unfortunately I've got an Argosy to rebuild and a friends house to help finish
