Added Brad, thanks!

I have another thought and I wanted to throw it out there for opinions...
What about a part, part number and part interchange thread?

For example...
Further to the recent discussions about radiator hoses, and HVAC controls, we have a thread running... maybe a sticky where we post part interchange info, like part numbers...

Say your 1986 345 needs new brakes.. or suspension airbags..
As we get info/part numbers, people post them, like here.
If we find out that there are alternatives, or upgrade options(like a high friction pad), part availability, suppliers, and approximate prices...

I was thinking about it being in the Chassis section, but then what about things like the HVAC control or other stuff...
I personally note, that sometimes I have to search for a while to find the answer...

What does everyone think??

Steve, I'm all for it. I've thought something like this was needed for a while now.

I'm struggling at the moment trying to figure out all of the rear brake info for my 74 Argosy MH. It's amazing all the crap you have to dig through to find the right part and usually the only way is by getting the part and comparing.

By all means set up a sticky thread for parts info. I've got a bunch of part numbers to add

Found this AWESOME original PDF of the A&E Leveling system...
Added it to the sticky, but those of us with older motorhome might find it good to download all the pageds and save them!

How about a source of supply for manuals? I am looking to purchase one and would like to go through the manual before I do an inspection, not to mention if I get it, I really want the manuals!

Hi, and Welcome!
There is a few links to threads with great advice on pre-purchase inspecting and advice on a classic..... which many of us either did not know or ignored... LOL.
Most of us have a PDF copy of the manual for the early/mid 80's versions.
PM me details of what year, and your email address, and I will see what I can help you with!

Great sticky....Just to add, along with a truck GM service manual covering the P30, a 1983 310 service manual, I have the original Isuzu service manual for the 6B If anyone wants it I will try to get it scanned.

Yes, please scan the Diesel motor manual...

I just added the Official GM vaporlock cause and cure PDF form 1984.
Chevy P-30 VaporLock Fix 1984.pdf

Please note that comment on the last page about adding a hose to pipe air from the front of coach to air filter snout and how that improves fuel cooling...

Front windshield moulding.

Had both our windshields replaced a few years ago and the glass shop said they could no longer get the black moulding. Cracked another one down here and saw a mobile glass shop guy who confirmed what they said. There is a generiac moulding available he said is a bearcat to install. What he did say, was to coat the moulding from time to time with petrolatum jelly to keep them soft. Thought all might appreciate his advise.

I disagree Mike, I had my windshields replaced last year with new gasket and talked to the glass shop last month and he can still get the gasket.

Cheers, Dan

Mike, are ya talking about the rubber gasket, or the black locking moulding?

It's the black two-piece locking moulding I'm told is no longer made. The gasket is easy money.

My lock strip came with the gasket. The gasket wouldn't be much good without the lock strip. By gasket I mean the rubber moulding and lock strip that holds the glass. I'm not sure what the big deal is but I stood there as they removed both pieces of glass and all the gasket material down to bare aluminum and then installed all new gasket and glass. The gasket is a single unit vulcanized and holds both pieces of glass. I talked to the guy about 2 months ago for current prices and availability and everything is available with an installed price of about $2500. The glass went up about $100 per side since I did mine about two years ago.

Cheers, Dan

Someone at the camp had a question I could not answer: Did AS make the 345 mo/ho in a diesel version, or was it just the 328/310 and 36 footer?
