Thx Peter, love the markets, even the weekly ones. Market days are one of my fondest memories of being with my grandparents.

There was a time I could say I spent half my life in Germany but as I age that is no longer true. But half my heart is always there, even more so around the holidays.

Was our first day of Christmas music at home today and the first CD is always our favorite German songs off the Deutsche Grammophon.

Bangles Adventures in Germany

Hey, my fellow Airstreamers!
I didn't see the thread for a while.
So funny for me to see, how interesting I AM for you...?!
I am now "well established" here in Hamburg, just came back from Goslar, Anja's Birthday today! Just in Case, anybody want to visit us:
Goslar: "Pasterkamp-Marché de Provence" Booth No. 111 in 38640 Goslar (open till 30th of December)
or Hamburg : Historischer Weihnachtsmarkt / Rathausmarkt
"Pasterkamp - La Maison du Midi", Booth H4 (open till 23th. December)
I promiss some impressive pictures with Bangels in Hambur Harbour AND Bangles in the (very!) old town of Goslar. Goslar is more than 1200 (!) years old, was never destroyed by any war or what ever!
It is my pleasure to see, how enjoyable my "Bangles" is for you!
Now, at weekend time, the RV park here in Hamburg is 100% booked, i will take some pictures tomorrow to show a few "german Motorhomes"!
It is very warm outside, 12 - 14 Celsius, so the failed heater in the back i not an issue anymore.
Electric heat is difficult, just 16 amp AC (230V!) here. the maximum you can draw out of an 16 amp outlet is 3600 Watts...! an average electic heater draws 2000 Watts, some coffeemaker, my hugh 230 to 110 Volt Transformator, a bit microwave...?!
You do the math!
But :
I installed a WONDERFULL cozy bix-spring queensize bed with a heated cover, no need to heat 👍😜🎄!
I will sent more pictures to Peter, he will post then!
Have a blessed 2nd. Advent!!!!

St. Nikolaus Day!

Thank you Peter for posting the pictures!
What you see there is my "morning vieuw" out of my Bangles.
It is the 6th of december, the "St Nikolaus day"! St Nikolaus was bishop von Palmyra, about decades ago. It is a german tradition, kids place their boots in front of the door and "St Nikolaus" fill's them with little gifts and / or chocolate! I filled my "US-sick" myself, "St Nikolaus" was not aware of the RV park, i assume...!
The RV park in Hamburg City is 120% full, i need 2.5 lots for Bangles...! See the common RV's we have here in Germany. I am not the "most beloved guy" here, just ONE guy in SUCH a big motorhome is sometimes difgicult to accept here...! (german problem! To make a bit "Advent-feeling", I tried to make it as "cozy as possible" inside.
Anyhow, we had a very crowdy but also successfull weekend here in Hamburg.
MANY (!!!) American's came along and enjoyed the Atmosphere here, some of them came with Cruise ships.
The RV park is very "international" at weekend time. RV's from Norway, Sweden, Poland, Italy, Danmark and -of course- the Netherlands! (The dutch are the "camping-popes" in europe, we have many (!) jokes about it...: How to discover a dutch aircraft? Easy, it's the only with trailer hitch...!
OK, flat joke.
I am now here , enjoy my "midnight-drink" and the atmosphere of 34.5 " Bangles, then go to bed!
I have to drain and refill her, i'll take pictures then tomorrow morning, you will be amused (!) about the facilities for sewer and fresh water here....!
EVERY time, i do it (once a week) i remember those PERFECT american campgrounds with full hook-up !
Have a nice, blessed and cozy "advent-evening" you all!
I would enjoy VERY MUCH some christmas decorated Airstreams!!!

Bangles in Hamburg!

What you saw on the pictures is a very common "Drain-station" here!
Bangles fit's this spot barely.
Grey Water and sewer go in ghe same "hole", just the (comon) Chemical toilets ("Thetford Cassette Toilette") needs to be drained in a separate Bassin. A "full hook-up" with fresh water, sewer, AC and cable TV is absolute unknown! I remember these ammenities from our wonderfull cross Amerika trip in 2013...!
(You see here every morning guys walking to the dumpstation with their "stinky" 4 Gallon "Carry-away" Tank!)
Even the very pricy RV's have this system, a hugh blackwater tank is something rare here!
As you could see, Propane is sold in20lbs bottles, i fill my tank with "LPG", i get it on many gasstations here. It is very common to run Gasolin powered cars, it is a Propane/Butane mixture.
Very cheap here: 0,50€ pet Litre (approx 2.20$ per Gallon)

great thread Peter, it reminds me of the only picture I saw of my 280 in the UK. The owner had filled the water tank with gas. Sad but true.
I wondered how he drove the thing on those narrow curvy roads.....I guess the answer is- slowly!
