But, yours can be welded. Mine looked just like yours after I Hooke the end of it on a post, and my nephew in welding school got it back in shape:. Attachment 278844
Although Airstream Supply list them they also list them as out of stock, and they are no longer available new.

If all else fails you can always try to repair it yourself. Check out this article. But hopefully there is someone in your area than can offer the same service.

There are plenty of reputable Airstream renovators in the U.K., including Airstream UK who can repair and replace panels etc.. I can point you n the direction of some if you need it. Good luck.

Hum, maybe Peter is ready for a trip back to Germany for a workin vacation.
Wonder if body panels could carried as extra oversized baggage?

Cheers Richard

Good thinking, Richard, and it already has been a consideration. But knowing Marcus, he will have it in the works in no time.

Hey, "Girls & Guys"!
By thinking about a "Weekender", a bit more "handsome" than Bangles is, i thougt about an 1977 ARGOSY 24 or an AIRSTREM motorhome, but also as a 24'!
I have one here as "scrap", so i could crab many parts and details to restore it.
MUST BE a 24', i do not care a lot about the interior, but it need's to bee "mechanicaly sound"!
Anybody ans idea????
Best, Marcus!

The small Argosy motorhomes are pretty darned cute, but the best place to perhaps find one for sale would be Classifieds here.

Good luck in your search, and keep us posted.

Back on stage!

Hey, Girls & Guys.
After a long period of silence, i want bust say „Hello“ to all my fellow AIRSTREAMERS!
Many things happened, very bad and ery good as well.
Bangles is still only garaged, due to my long period of serious heLth issues, i was unable to take care of her. I also lost my interest in my „big baby“, due to private changes in my life.
Anyhow, i want to see her back on the road! Ghe coachrepIr will be done locally, i will straighten it and just change the rear corner window (passenger side).
Maybe it‘s not perfect then , as Peter‘s coachsork, but OK for me. I wNt to see her ON THE ROAD, not for month in a repairshop and get rid of a hell of cash.
My other issue is, by my last trip in „strange condition“, i „killed“ my engine, because a repair shop here, did not filled in enough oil by the change! 👹👹
I drove as a „monkey“, 100 mp/h for about 250km. She ran incredible, but dor her las trip...!
Next morning i had a bad engine noise : DONGYONGDONGDONGDONG....
We cahnged the mIn bearings, checked tranny etc. Noise is still there. Tranny leKs oil, by changing and flushing after this „run“, we found metalparts in the pan.
My thought now is, the Camshaft is „F you c kaid“...?!
I don‘t know, nobody does here. It‘s difficult to find a german US repairshop arround here sith space for a 11 metres rig.
My thought is now, forget repairs, change engine & tranny by a professional rebuild part.
Who has expirience? What is an avaerage estimate for GOOD rebuild engine and tranny?
Also, does the 501 cid engine fit the BANKS system from the 454??
I am glad to get any support. Maybe a german friend here (?) has an idea for a reliable repIrshop in my area (North rhine westfalia, arround Cologne, close to the dutch border).
Hope to hear from you!!!!
