steps/leveling jacks???

Finally trying to get all my kinks worked out, almost have freshwater system working right. My steps will go down by themselves but will not retract, previous owner said a gear is stripped, which is what it sounds like to me. Anyone know if you can by replacement gears?? or if buying a new set would just be the easiest thing?? Also my leveling jacks are having problems.... the right rear one will come down and extend and retract.. however my red master light comes on. The other 3 will not come down and extend, but if i push the levers they make noise... could they be low on fluid?? or anyone have any experience on this?? Thannks......

Hi,

Can't help with the question however, you may want to add what type of Airstream you have to your profile. That way folks will know what your dealing with. Congrats. on getting the water system up and running.

Assuming you have HWH levelers, I suggest that you give them a call. Their customer service is excellent. They also have parts for every system they ever made.

Is your step vacuum or electric? If vacuum, parts will be hit and miss, I fooled with my vacuum step for a couple of years then replaced it with a double electric step from Quickee. I no longer have any problems.

Hi, and welcome to the society of the bald - because we pulled out all our hair over these shiny blimps. FYI the HWH corp. in Moscow, Iowa does work on almost anything hydraulic, including all major brands of levelers. They fixed my A&E set at very reasonable cost and gave us free parking and lunch to boot!
