I'm in the midst of building an entirely new dash for my 325 with all new instruments from a different supplier.

Anyone that can use the original gauges is welcome to them.

Charly.

I'll be glad to shoot a few photos. If I can ever figure out how to post them will be another subject!

Hi Glen,

I have tried to figure out how to load pictures onto a reply, but I officially give up!! Someone truly evil must have designed this site! I spent three or four hours trying, but am obviously not sharp enough for the job.
It seems a lot simpler (and more productive) to try to sort out the million or so wires that are now exposed where my original dash used to be.

My personal email is clbx@mac.com.

If you would like, shoot me a quick message and I'll be glad to send you some photos of the project.

Charly.

Actually easier than you think. I'll be happy to help you do this however.

For posting photos all you need to do is scroll down past the submit button when in the reply screen. Look for the button that says "Manage Attachments" and click. You can then browse your computer to select photo files for upload.

Once you have selected the photo files don't forget to click on the upload button and then once upload is complete click on the regular submit button to post your message.

You just have to go a bit deeper into the message post screen to find this option.

Once you learn how you end up with one of those "ah ha" moments.

Speedometer Replacement

Hi Bill - I have a 350LE that needs a new speedometer. I looked at the link that you provided. It looks like the speedometer that you purchased is no longer available. Am I right? Do you have the part number for the one you bought? How is it working? Thanks, Delaware

Hi Delaware- Here's what my receipt shows:
ITEM CODE: XL53220
Description: XL 3" Speedometer (Mech.) 0-85 mph W/Trip Odo

If I remember right when I talked to them the one that is NLA is the one that doesn't have bevel. To be sure call them 704-985-0171 or 800-462-7635, they made sure I was ordering correct one when I phoned them.

I can actually see the numbers on the face of new one because they are slightly larger than original. Mine works fine,is calibrated exactly where it needs to be and was an easy install as long as you don't mind standing on your head for a few minutes.

If your dash has a tach next to speedo be advised that with new face on speedo you'll really notice how time has faded the face of tach which wasn't noticeable before.

Speedometer replacement

Hi Bill - Your speedometer looks to be a mechanical / cable type. Mine is electronic. I've sent my dead unit to an outfit call NSI in North Carolina. They repair VDO gauges. I expect a quote back from them in a few days. If this doesn't work out I'll give a call to the place where you purchase yours. Thanks for the info. - Delaware

Our speedometer was replaced by a mechanic in Tucson...AZMobile Mechanic...I'm sure he cringes when he sees me coming, but he's an excellent mechanic, and quite reasonable...did our brakes when no one else could, and didn't charge for the stuff that wasn't there...definitely a "go to" kinda guy...his name is Tom...mine is mike, but you may not want to use me as a reference...

I got a replacement speedometer for my 350LE. Before installing it I need to determine it has a "Hall-Effect Sensor" or an "Inductive Sender". Does anyone know which type was used on a 1991 350LE?

Hey 345 Bill,
I need a knob to reset my trip odometer, mine is missing. Do you still have the old one? Do you want to sell it? How much?

Odometer knob

Jim - I still have the old speedometer from my 350LE. It's a VDO. If it will work for you let me know. All I'd ask is that you pay shipping / postage. Let me know. - Delaware
