Service dealer in West Bay, CA/San Francisco area?

Hi guys,

Can anyone recommend a service agent in San Francisco? Ideally, West Bay area. Also, I know EastBayRV are meant to be OK - can anyone recommend these guys for classic MH service?

thanks

Nick

Nobody on Peninsula or West SF Bay Area...

Nick-

There are only 3 Airstream dealers in northern Calif... None on SF peninsula or western portion of SF Bay Area... East Bay RV is new to Airstream (signed on in 2005..) and may not have expertise in classic motorhomes..

If you need Airstream expertise, I'd recommend calling Ron (Service Mgr) at Toscano RV in Los Banos.. (1.209.826.2488) Sadly, it's a 90 minute drive from Silicon Valley, but new facility has good techs and lots of room, including overnight stay pads with hookups, if needed...

For mere or generic RV repair, there are two shops in San Jose that work on RV's.. Leale's off Monterey Rd, and Almaden RV in same general area of southern San Jose...

Nick,
What type of service are you looking for? In my experience there are three kinds of services you need. If you need chassis stuff, you might not need an Airstream savvy shop.

Some of the RV systems can be handled by any good RV shop. When it come to the skin and interior, there is real specialized expertise in an Airstream shop.

Hi guys,

I'm after someone to take a look at a unit I intend to buy. In simple terms, I need a once over on the usual items to check the interior and appliances are in the condition the seller states. Also, to identify any key pieces of work which need to be undertaken. Plus, costs of replacing the items which need work e.e. automtic stairs, new matresses etc.

Do you think Leales or Almaden would be up for this or should I stick with EastBayRV?

thanks

Nick

Still not sure...

Nick-

If it is 1980's vintage classic MH, then chassis and body and running gear probably more improtant than appliances and plumbing, IMHO.... Leale's or Almaden could probably do as well as East Bay, since East Bay became and Airstream shop 20 years after last classic motorhome sold new... Anyone could do OK for replacement of mattresses and stairs, I suppose, but unique body items probably tough to estimate by generic shop..

If you want to do some contacting:

Ron at Toscano's +1 209 826 2488 (Los Banos - 50 miles from San Jose)
Nick at Leale's RV +1 408 286 5353 (San Jose)
Chris at Almaden RV +1 408 289 9442 (San Jose: Phelan Ave)
