Seatbelts in the dinette and couch

Hi all,

I know that Airstream factory fitted lap-belts in the dinette and
couch on classic Motorhomes. Unfortunately, our 1991 250 doesn't have this option. Can anyone tell me how they anchored these to the frame? A description (or photos) would be great.

thanks

Seatbelts in the dinette/couch

Hi guys,

Is there anychance someone might help me out with this query? I've tried Airstream but I'm getting radio silence back. I know this was an option on my 1991 250 because the manual says so......I need to get it sorted so the children are safe with those crazy French drivers on the continent.

Hope you can help!

On our 345 the dinette belts go through a slot in the rear of the seat platform and anchor to the floor. On the couch they run between the sofa seat and back and again down to the floor where they are anchored to a bolt that is drilled through the wood and metal floor and then has large re-inforcing washers installed on the bottom. The swivel chairs just have the belts attached to the chair frame.

Our road trip

Hi,

Our trip was fantastic....not without a few hiccups, but the 250 drove like a champ, 2500 miles from San Francisco via Yosemite, Mojave Preserve, Grand Canyon, New Mexico, Carlsbad and through Texas to Galveston. Slight problem on the 12V (smell of burning) which subsequently dissappeared and gave us no more problems. Had it checked out on the way by Camping World in Alburquerque who gave it the all clear on their 45 point check, but had four new tires fitted. Cruises at over 70mph. I appeared to be getting amazing MPG at 65MPH, I reckon it was over 12, maybe 14. After all, it is only a baby insomuch as it is a 1991 25ft with brand new tires and transmission/overdrive. Just hoping for no hurricanes down at Galveston cause it will sit there for 4 weeks before the long voyage to Southampton (via Zeebruge). I'm praying the east European gangs in Zeebruge port don't rip off the camera etc.....they have a terrible reputation......keep your fingers crossed for me! Pictures to follow when she comes off the boat.

Thanks for your help!

Seatbelts

Thanks Cooperhawk. Do you know whether they were factory fitted originals? I'm assuming they are all lapbelts. Also, are there two in the dinette and three across the couch?

thanks

They are factory originals and there is seating with belt for one on each dinette seat, and three accross the couch. There are no shoulder straps at all.

motorhome seatbelts

these are from my 85' 345,
In the last shot it's kinda hard to see exactly where they're anchored but you get the general idea

A couple of weeks ago we drove our car to So. Cal. during a windy weekend. There was a lot of debris blowing around and we wound up with a plastic bag stuck to the exhaust pipe. It created a smell much like I suspect you had. It's a possibility...
Our smell lasted a couple of days.
