My experience has been that the entire structure was made by ACME Air. I haven't had much luck contacting them lately. You may have to Fab something up.

Pop Rivet Do you have a part# for your new blowers you installed? My local parts supplier says he may be able to cross match and see who else may supply blowers Thanks Jonathan

I have to manually go under the curb side of the AS hood, and move the gate for ac/heat...it's a pain, but having ac or heat are nice options...I also hang a shower curtain just behind the front seats to keep the captain's area cool or warm, and to keep that area isolated when parked...cosmetically challenged, but functional...m

I found this site for directauto.com 1-800-611-6730. I entered Chevrolet/suburban 3/4 ton 1987 and it brought up the blower motor with a shaft on both ends for $39.99. I haven't called but it looks just like mine minus the squirrel cages.

I have referred to this on other threads, but will reiterate...there is a forums for Barthmobile, which has the same P30(or P32) chassis...they are another source for parts and replacements...saved us when we were stuck in AZ without hope...m

Has anyone been able to reach Acme Home Page for replacement blower motor parts or possibly located another source?

Broken Plastic A/C Housings

I found it. I found it. I found it!! While Acme Radiator and A/C might have originally assembled and sold the dash heater and A/C unit, they didn't manufacture the components. Anyway Acme went out of business a few years ago, but another company bought their assets however dropping the line that we need. A rep from that company gave me the name of a gentleman who pointed me to the company who actually manufactures the sub components. The name of the company is Cary Products in Hutchins Texas. They don't sell to the public, but they referred me to a dealer which was only 11 miles from my house! I was able to go to their ware house with my old unit and make sure I got the correct replacement parts. They have the replacement shrouds, the venturi covers, motors, squirrel cages, etc. Mostly everything you need except the heater core and cooling coil. The company is DTAC, Inc. 5130 Edgefield Lane Midlothian, Texas 76065 Phone number 972-723-1247. These components used in our motorhomes back in the 80's are still being used today. Chris at DTAC said he probably had 80 or more of the squirrel cage shrouds in stock at any one time!!

Maybe if I had known this when I started the thread back in 2005 I would have kept my 280.

Thumbs up Thanks!

I spoke to Kenny at DTAC Inc. today and if I can get him a number off the fan motor, he can give me a very quick yes or no on whether they have what I need! I didn't see any exposed numbers on it, but maybe if I take it off...
Excellent work my new friends!
Taking the old motor home up into the snow for a ski trip without a heater/defroster fan is not a good idea.
