replacement fuel tanks for 1979 Excella 28

We are in the process of restoring a 1979 Excella 28 ft motorhome, it had sat for years with a half a tank of fuel and the tank is junk, rust holes etc. I looking for a replacement tank, the one for the P30 chassis looks quite a bit different, does anyone know what tank they used? I cant imagine it was specifically made for the airstream, any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can imagine is was specifically made for Airstream......Henschell use to make axles specifically for Airstreams.

I would take measurments of the tank and google them first for a possible match.

Mills supply have gas tanks for P30 stepvans.

60 or 40 gallon?
I was looking to upgrade my 40 gallon to a 60, and by googling the dimensions I found a 60 gallon for sale on some website, don't remember where, that I think was a semi-custom version of the correct one. You won't like the price though, I decided to stick with my 40.

If you're looking for a 40 gallon there are options on ebay

No two airstreams are the same, so take dimensions and compare photos carefully

Unfortunately that's another great American family owned business, operating in Buffalo NY since 1939; bought out in the 90's; eventually closing its doors in 2002.[emoji53]
