Rear bath shower faucet

The rear bath shower faucet needs replacing in my '82 diesel Excella. Not only do I not know how to find a replacement faucet, neither do I know how to get access to it. It looks like I have to remove the interior skin to get to the faucet innards. Is that correct?

My manual says there is an access door in the wall behind the bed. In my coach there was no door so I cut a hole that is hidden by the mattress. I covered the hole with a snap in plumbing access door from Home Depot. I also bought a shower valve from HD.
