Rear air bags optional on 1983 310 airstream?

I am inspecting a 1983, 310 airstream with the hope of purchasing it and not finding any rear airbags! Are rear air bags an option or something that ought to be on any 310?
I haven't slept well for a couple of days( jet lag) but I do not think I could have missed them. The 310 seems, to my unexperienced eye, to sit reasonably high in the rear. I will be looking at it again but any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome.

Many did...

We looked at several '82-'83 classic mohos, and all but one had the airbags. The one that didn't rode like a lumber truck. I don't know what it would take to add them on, but to us they are a necessity.

I was under the impression that all Airstream branded motor homes had the rear and front air bags. If they are missing someone took them off and I would walk away from the coach.

or maybe take it to a suspension shop for an evaluation, maybe the PO did a modification to change out the bags

Thanks everyone for replying, it turns out the airbags were there all along, but aft of the axle, not were I expected them between the axle and the frame, I guess I really did some more sleep.

Don't feel bad, I drove Chummy over a year before Alan, at a rally, showed me the rear compressor.

Keep us Posted

Let us know how your search goes. We're just as crazy about our moho's as the others are about their tt's. And we love pictures.

My 250 had no rear air bags and when I replaced the front bags, the rear was lower so I installed rear bags. After adjusting the pressures and some advice from Andy, the results are terrific
