radio antenna replacement

Newbie
How do I replace the radio antenna which is mounted on the drivers side of my 350 LE? Do you have to remove the inside panel to run the cable to the radio?
Thanks

Yes...the driver's side panel has to be loosened, but not removed. All the rivets from the top rear of the sliding window along the curtain snaps to the floor need to be drilled out, then you will have access to where the antenna wire passes through the body. They used a lot of hard silicone when they installed it so you need to pry the old silicone out carefully from the inside. The original antenna is still available as u have replaced both of them in my 325LE and the 370LE. Do you have the factory rear radio and second antenna in the bedroom ? Regards, Bob

Yes I do have the factory installed radio in the bedroom but that aerial is ok. The front one is broken and I picked up a replacement at CanAm in Ontario. I think I will wait for warmer weather probably spring before tackling as it is around 30F here now and only going to get colder. Thanks for the info Bob.

Or a better one that would bolt up using the existing hole? (Or cover the existing hole)

I bought a dual mount antenna off of ebay about 3 years ago and installed it on my Argosy. Sadly, within two years the antenna started rusting so it looks like I'm going to have to replace it again before I ever got to use it

Here's a couple of different choices I found on ebay.

Dual Base Side Mount AM FM Antenna
