Been a while since I posted but I've crossed a few things off the list.

Got new front tires. New batteries. Changed and checked fluids. Checked bushings front bearings and joints.

Added some metal to the hitch and frame (under the filler tube holes on the frame).

Got a cool new stereo with plenty of speakers through out the coach.

Ordered some new hooks from Vintage Trailer Supply and had our wonderful neighbor sew up some new curtains.

When we first got the 345 the kids said it looked like a roll of aluminum foil so we named it...

Also replaced the swivel chairs and tv stand with a futon so the kids can't fight over who gets the couch.

After a few trips on the road we have developed a small transmission leak at the bell housing, so we have that to deal with now but everything else is coming along nicely.

The 345 drives great and after fixing the front caliper it stops much better. We are holding off on the Utah trip this year but we have plenty of local camping trips planned on the East Side. We can't wait to spend some time in the Tin Foil!

Here is a few pics from a short day hike trip we drove the TinFoil to. Lots of stares and thumbs up on the road!

The girls and I put new flooring down today. Found some floor rot and molded insulation behind the passenger side wall so we removed that and sealed the window the best we could.

We got a warm snap in the weather the other day so I put the Eldorado Stripper to good use. This stuff works great!

This pic is after the first application. I found the stripper also works good on the decal residue and the painted parts so I'm going to apply it several more times and see how it goes.

The madness begins.....

The Nuvite wasn't cutting it so I switched to the brown polishing compound. I'll save the Nuvite for the Cyclo finishing pass.

We got out this weekend for a little camping and trail riding in good ole West Virginia! Got one flat on inside rear and almost ran out of gas but all else went well. Three days of trail riding and and some very comfortable camping, we are really loving the TinFoil!

Got another camping trip in for Memorial Day. Boondocking on the New River in Va.

Still don't have the Onan gen set running but it was cool enough not to need a/c. I've cleaned the carb, changed the carb out for one off of a running gen set, changed coil, wires and plugs. Still not getting a good spark. Oh well, part of the fun!

Got my racing stripes on yesterday. The Tin Foil has definitely gotten shiny in the past 8 months.

Wow! The polishing really looks good. What did you use for your stripes?

Thanks, its getting there. I just finished my first pass, many more to come! For the stipes I ordered 3 150' rolls of 2" stripes from a local pinstriping business. Marked and layed the center stripe first then did the two darker stripes.

Just got back from a week long camping trip on Cape Hatteras. These Classics def attract attention. Got tons of questions and compliments, got free booze for tours. The 1000 mile trip went well, got the onan running (stuck valve) so we had good a/c while driving down the road.

On the way back, when we hit the mountains again, I noticed the engine stumbiling a little on up hill acceleration. When the 4 barrel kicks in it seems there is not enough fuel there for the carb. I remember reading some where that these rigs have 2 fuel pumps. I am hoping that one may have failed and that's the problem. Has anyone else had an issue like this?

We have an electric pump in line back near the tank with a toggle switch on the dashboard to control it. Checked that pump several times when we were having stumbling problems but it was always okay. Solved our problem by heat wrapping the hard fuel line that comes up to the carburetor from the mechanical pump.

Wow, tradera, just went through your thread. GREAT buy on the moho. I spent 8k on our 28' Argosy and feel good about it. She had very good mechanicals, but a few dents in the skin. Interior was very good, but not great. Sounds like you got a fantastic deal. Polish job looks amazing.

Best,
Ben

Thank all for the replies!
After off loading the lighthouse the TinFoil ran just fine. I guess it was just too much weight for the old girl.

I had a similar problem in March in Big Bend. It would stumble on hills, then eventually it died on a hill, but then came back. I changed everything in the ignition system (cap, rotor, plugs, wires, coil and module). Also bought a new fuel pump, all of those items totaled less than $150. I never got to the fuel pump, but the ignition changes seemed to have solved the problem....
