This place I'd highly recommend in Columbus. They've been around a long time and work on pickups to large buses and trucks.

Gary,
Do you know if Nelson does brake work? My 1999 3/4 ton Suburban has drum brakes on the rear and I am trying to find someone who could convert it to discs.

Not sure - but they have a bunch of old school mechanics there that rock. I'd give them a call and ask at least. If I were going to trust anyone to do it it would be them.

They rebuilt my Durango rear end a couple years ago and save me almost $2,000 versus the dealer.... even had a guy there that knew about Airstream axles.

Thank You Mike,

sounds like a good Option, If I go down I-75 or 71 will give me the option of Nelsons in Columbus or Garners in Dayton. I will see whom can work me into their schedule when I am ready to head South.

We want to thank Everyone for the good Information !!!

Just make sure that the front airbags are set at 55 psi. No more, no less. This will give them a place to start. The P30 specs are what they need to follow. Remember you're not driving an Airstream but a Chevy P30 truck.

Let me know what your decision is and maybe we can have lunch while they work on your AS. Lots of good joints just west of their shop along I 75.

Sounds Good Mike

I travel I-75 every week or Two

Lots of Good eateries close to you !!!

Back in the 70's through the mid 90's we got off on Little York Road every trip. Then the construction-Growth, traffic and we started coming down I-71 from Columbus.

P30 is AS, bread truck, delivery truck, school bus, and several mohos...actually, there is a running argument on one of the other forums about whether or not it's a P30 or P32

Yup, P30 is a catch all and the chassis's changed a bit at a time. Check your VIN number for the proper P, you could be a P37.....

The 'discussion' is on the Barthmobile site, and there are experts, mechanics, and engineers placing forth opinion...I'm more confused now, than I was before I tied up with that site...All I know is when I call a repair place, I try very hard not to use 'Airstream' in the conversation...that's a guaranteed 48 hour delay, if not longer, and it's still a common chassis and most likely has a 454, also a common supply item(whole or parts)...
Too many P's, but I'm older, and used to that!...mike
