New Streamer

We came home yesterday with our "new" 1986 345 classic with 62,000 miles in ,overall, really good shape. Things I know that don't work are dash a/c, overhead running lights, tv, and cruise. The shower needs new lining and the antenna is missing. It has new tires, brakes, and lines. Both furnaces have been factory replaced. New water pump, radiator cap, micro/oven, and fridge. Original upholstery is great condition. The family is stoked. I look foward to sharing knowledge and experiences on this great site. Will try to get some pics up soon.

Welcome! Sounds like your laundry list of things to do isn't all that bad. Lots of use with the Classic motorhomes have had trouble with the dash air. fortunately there is some good info on the forum explaining how to work on it. Been there done that!

HI! We bought our 86 345 last year and took it to the Crawfish festival on our maiden voyage. As with any older mh you will be tinkering on one thing or another as long as you own the AS but it is well worth it. This forum tends to lean more toward the travel trailers but there are plenty of good posts reguarding the classics. I have learned a lot from a lot of great people.

Nice to "meet" you! We brought home our 87 345 in October. We can't wait to go camping! I hope you will post pictures when you can. We'll put some on too next time we pull it out of it's narrow parking spot. We have lots of work to do too but boy will we be comfortable at camp!

Thanks much. I had my first "repair" yesterday. Mrs. CC wanted me to pull up to the house so she could be closer for the inaugural super cleaning. As I turned the wheel, a terrible growl came from MH. By the time I was straightened out the steering was gone. I crawled underneath to find PS fluid everywhere. I went inside, pulled the cover, shined my light and turning the wheel I was able to see a nice tear in the pressure hose. I yanked it and after 2 auto stores the 3rd one had something similair, not exact. It took some convincing and 2 hrs time, but all worked out.

I've started carrying spares for the power steering and power brake hoses. The cost of carrying the spares seemed trivial to me compared to breaking down in the middle of no-where .

I have heard horror stories about how hard it is to change some of those power steering lines. Sounds like you've got a good handle on the process .
