Sorry, got on the wrong thread. You might take a look at the rear end ,it could be that your coach was not part of the recall.

My shop says that that is all okay on my P30

They checked out the leaf springs and stuff when they were working on the rear and the airbags....I can't find the post about the airbags.....I do have a place to fill them...I just don't have a tank.....it is a valve like the tire valve that you just put air directly into the air bags......my guys tell me that I am lucky not to have all that other stuff to worry about.....p

Angry The trip was great..

I promise to post pictures but we have a new bookkeeper in the office today so I can't spend too much time on this now......I may have mentioned my hubby was busy so a girl friend went with me.....a very competent woman but not necessarily into rving.......she helped me to not go too far to the right.....

The motorhome runs great......no problem going up over San Marcos Pass out of Santa Barbara.......I would say she used 14 gallons of gas from Marina del Rey up PCH to Santa Barbara....they say she has a 34 gal tank.....I put in $99 or 24.271 gallons (preminum) in Marina del Ray and then another 14.4 gallons in Santa Barbara...or a little better than 7 miles to the gallon.....I don't think the 24 gallons filled the tank....wasn't sure if my card stopped at $99 or the tank was full....think it was the former.

I had not locked the door properly and when I made a left hand turn in Oxnard getting to the 101, the door flew open.....in pulling over to remedy that, I scrapped my tires on the curb

Pulled off the 101 in Ventura following signs to the State Beaches.....they seemed to be full of surfing vanagons and no room for my 24'...so went back on the freeway and somewhere near Carpenteria, we just pulled off to the side and had lunch that we had brought with us......continued on to Rte. 154 and immediately started up the grade.....decided I wanted to get gas first so turned around and headed back to Santa Barbara and found a station on State Street. I forgot to mention that it is hard to lift the gas tank lid because that big spare tire cover sort of conflicts......but I managed. Station owner said, "What year is that?"

Had no trouble going up the grade....used the turn outs when possible. The people driving up that grade are crazy and fast....there was a rollover later that day with parents and kids.....may have been a fatality....I can see why......people underestimate the danger of that road in their hurry......

Water leak was not fixed so we did not use the plumbing....but the cook top worked as did the furnace.....it was cold Saturday night but we were toasty in sleeping bags.....turned on the furnace in the morning.....

We were on a rally with lots of food so that was great....we went on a natue boat cruise on Lake Cachuma......interesting birds and cold and windy.....

Couldn't get the engine to start when we were ready to leave....Jim Polk (appraiser guy and great friend) came over to assist....lifted the dog house and he took off the air filter and the choke was not operating......he opened or closed it....and it started right up.......we then went home the back way--through Buellton to the 101 and not down San Marcos Pass....it is about 40 miles or so longer that way but not so steep......made it home by 3:30 pm and still had a 1/4 tank of gas......

So all in all it was a great trip.....Oh, when we stopped for lunch on the way home, I forgot to turn off the lights......I am so used to them going off automatically in my subaru.......I have lots more to learn......but she is as cute as a bugs ear and I think I am smitten...now how can I rotate that photo ?

Great Report Paula!
We are so used to modern cars and Fuel Injection we forget the old tricks, and necesary deeds to get a Carb truck started...
Did you pump the gas pedal twice before trying to start?
Even on a warm day, mine needs it, and I bet on a cold one it must.
Pics looks fun.. did you get attention from the other Streamers???

I pumped it many times.....

Like maybe 10 times.......or more........we waited and still it would not turn over....the choke was not working.........Jim said it has to be adjusted to turn over better in cold weather starting.......

We got lots of attention.....think that is the reason I wanted it.....sort of like being a rock star.......no one and I mean no one has one like it......think I will try to get a different year service manual.....my 1982 doesn't even have a 24 ' in it.....maybe a 1979......the 82 says the water tank is under the lounge..............not....it is in the rear under the closet.......it is a mystery MH....

Hi Paula, sounds like you had a great trip! Just through the dead bolt each time to keep that door closed.

You would think I would have known.

Duh, lock the door.....silly stuff....but it is different from the trailer....where you lock from the outside.....I think there is a whole new learning curve for us with this vehicle.....

But I love all of the interest she generates.....guess I am a sucker for it....paula

Paula, Andy has told me that this part is no longer available. If you're able to locate anything similar, please let me know.
Thanks, Derek
