The 345 is not so rare, however diesel versions can be far and few between. Usually powered by a 454, Isuzu turbo diesel or in some cases a Cummins.
The price range is all over the map, $8,000- $10,000 for so-so coaches and high milers, to 30+ large for very decent units. Diesels add usually a 5G premium over a gasser.
These coaches can be labour intensive as they're approaching 30+ years so spending a little more money to get a coach in good condition can reap benefits later on.
There are two camps on the tag axle.
Camp 1 likes the look of the tag and insists the tag adds extra stability on highways.
Camp 2 doesn't like the look of the tag, doesn't have to try and find non existant parts for the tag axle; the extra complexity and also the extra weight which can be as high as 3000 lbs for an extra 3-4' for living space. An extra $600.00 for two extra tires doesn't help either.
Cheers
Tony
