Need brake HELP 345 LE 1990

I just did calipers, rubber lines and new master cylinder. It's all bleed and ready to tryout. Plus our week vacation starts tomorrow. Hopefully the Road Runner is ready. I notice now my back wheels spin while in jack stands. Why isn't it in park? Do I need to bleed something else or is it ready to fire up and test new brakes. Thanks.

Your park locks the driveshaft. With both wheels in the air they turn through the differential. If you turn one wheel the other side will turn in the opposite direction. Both wheels need to be on the ground to lock things up.

Hey,
Are you referring to your rear duals or the tag axle. If it's the tag, that's like a trailors Axle. They only will be locked when you put on the brakes, provided there wired . You'll see the 2 wires coming out of the backplate. Should be hooked to wires going to it from chassis. Now if you mean your duals the drives are spinning on the jack stands, that's a little strange. If your in park. Wheels will move a little ,back and forth maybe ane inch or two. But the driveline should be locked from the trans back. Is yours a diesel. If so, does it have an air buttom e brake. It'll be yellow or red. Pull to set brakes. If you got a gas engine, you should be locked when you put it in park. Is your 370 a ford 460 or 454 chevy. Either way the trans in park sets the driveline to a locked position. Put it in park, on concrete, on a Little hill. Let off the brake, if she rolls forward ,and keeps rolling, the parking lock in the trans is broken, or your linkage to the shift lever may be a tiny bit out of adjustment. It could be that simple your right in between park and reverse. Hope this helps

I think Smartstream has it right. The driveshaft should be locked but the rear wheels will rotate opposite each other thru the differential. I assume your parking brake is at the back end of your transmission and you have rear disc brakes. Rear drum brakes have the parking/emergency brake function built into each side rear drum.

Everything checked out fine on my test drive. Goes into park as it should. I do have one noise and I think it is the front right caliper rattling it goes away when I apply the brakes. Thanks again for the input.
