Just returned from a 2 week, 1500 mile trip with my 310. No regrets with this motor choice, lots of power. Met some nice folks, fellow airstreamers and even some forum members!Click image for larger version

Fantastic, glad to hear you had a great time. Awesome!

What was your mileage, over what kind of terrain?

Cheers
Tony

I travelled from New Hampshire to Ohio. I had a big climb in Vermont over Hogback Mountain. A twisty road with sections of 8% grade and truck escape ramps. I went out 90 which isn't too hilly. I came back on 86 & 88 which have some hills. I got between 7 - 8 mpg with a high of 8.3 on one section. Travelled about 67 mph going out and 70+ coming home. 3500 RPMs at 70. An overdrive would be nice.

Yeah, I agree on the RPM's, didn't push the 325LE much over 60 MPH, the 370LE is geared lower, must have been a Gillig thing, so I am looking at a Gear Vendors right now to mount up to the C6. Regards, Bob

Thanks for the additional pictures, Chief!
Bob, I picked up an 81 Snap On truck (P30 chassis, 454 and trans freshly overhauled) to be the donor vehicle for my 28 ft Excella. If you're a Snap On guy, that's kinda fun. Nice big aluminum lift gate on the back, too! I'm pretty sold on the 502 upgrade, though. Guess I'll have to keep Snappy for my shop!

yes, been with Snap-On 27 years, Drive my original 1990 Chevrolet P-60 tool truck with 8.2 litre Detroit Diesel turbo with Allison 545 trans. When I retire I will keep the 8.2/Allison set up for conversion into my 370LE and scrap the body of the tool truck. I priced out rebuilt 8.2 rebuilts along with Allison, they want crazy money!!! Mine has 177,000 miles on it because it is a city truck and I do an oil change every 12 Saturdays so she is in excellent shape. Regards, Bob
